What was the most crazy absentminded thing you have done?

MINE IS: I usually park my truck in my field near my garage in the winter but I used it recently and I parked it behind stall #2 of my double garage. The next day I decided to go to the store and did my usual turn and sure enough hit my truck. How is that for absentmindedness? Luckily, I did not damage either vehicle, otherwise, I would be the most incredible idiot around.....to hit their own car!

Really glad I'm not alone, lol! The only one coming to mind at the moment is going to use the sewing machine, and wondering why on earth it won't turn on...I plugged it into the outlet, so it should work!! Riiight...have to plug the other end INTO the sewing machine..........

I can't remember my crazy moments at the moment, but I do recall the puzzled look on hubby's face sometimes when I do crazy things. Now I feel much better - I am not alone!

I too have done the showering w/ glases on and have gone to bed w/ hard contacts still in.

Kind of wondered why I could stil see everything. That harsh reminder comes when I close my eyes and feel a sharp pain OOPS!

And have come very close to sticking something in the frige or freezeer that clearly doesn't belong there. Luckily that behavior stops dead in it s tracks when I snap out of it and realize I'm about to misplace the real item that does go in the frige and I'll be sorry if it's not!

I love reading all the stories. I know that there are many things that I have done, but my brain is not bringing them out in to the open.

HAHAHAHA! This is great! Makes me realize I'm not alone. One day I was talking to me mom on my cell phone and she ask me what channel a certain show was on and I started punching in #'s on the phone and couldn't figure out what was wrong with the tv. Once I figured out what I was doing, found the channel just fine!

Oh, my gosh, I am dying here, laughing so hard! This is making my day, no way, my WEEK! All of your stories are so funny!!! Searching for your cell phone while talking on it, reporting your call stolen, leaving the water running in the kitchen sink (I've done that more than once with the bathtub) and showering with your glasses on. This is just great, so glad I posted this, I don't feel as stupid now. :D

When I worked at the Dentist office, we would walk across the street to the diner at lunch. Well, one day it was raining when I went out at lunch, so I decided I would drive across. When we were finished eating the sun was out so I walked back across to work. At time to go home I go out the back door to get in my car and it wasn't there. I freaked out. I went running in and told everyone my car was stolen. I was on the phone to the police, when my co-worker said,"didn't you drive at lunch?" I couldn't believe I forgot that!!

I have showered with my glasses on, misplaced my keys only to find they are still in the door, yesterday I forgot to put the baking soda in the cookie dough. I realized that when I was cleaning up. I am glad to know I'm not the only one who has lost their cell phone only to find it in my backpocket.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

I think the most absentminded thing I have done so far is search and search for my cell phone while I was talking on it. I even went out side and searched the truck. Finally my husband asked me what I was looking for and I told him my cell phone. He just pointed at his ear and started laughing. I have actually done that a couple of times. I use to work at a ranch and had to leave my car keys close to the car in case someone had to move it to get a trailer out or something. I would put them under the cover for the gas tank. A while later I was at the ranch where I keep my horses now and put them there out of habit. Then when I was ready to go home I couldn't find them. I ended looking along with about 5 other people until way after dark. Then I called my daughter and she brought me the extra set. On the drive home I remembered what I had done with them.

We are frozen solid this morning. So I have to haul water buckets to all the critters. I had put one big bucket in the kitchen sink and ran outside to do a few things while it filled up. Well, that ain't a good thing for me to do. It was 15 minutes later and I came in and heard water running, Huh!

And I have also left the hose on overnight a few times. Unless I write it down or say it over and over, I WILL forget.

I've been doing an awful lot of absent-minded things lately.....with the result that when I'm on "autopilot" I sometimes do things better.

This evening, I wanted to make something different, so was going to make a homemade pizza with a baking mix I use, using drop biscuit style dough. I decided to only make a double batch, but, when I put in the milk, I did it for a triple batch. Sooooooooo.....I just threw in some more baking mix......I DO remember putting it in the 1 cup measurer, I think it was around 1/2 cup, but don't remember for sure.........it ended up being the best light fluffy biscuit pizza dough I've ever made.............just not exactly sure how much I used!

LOL!!!

I can't get into my work without a security pass card and on Saturdays the security guards don't come in until later and this morning I thought I had forgotten to put it in my purse when I packed for the day! Luckily I did have it but it gave me quite a heart attack!

I had to turn around and go back home 3 times to get things I forgot one day. But that's a good day. Usually it about 1 time.
I've done the key thing, too.

I did the same thing with my glasses, although I have searched for my keys before and already had them in my hand. I just blame it on to much on my brain its mine line and Im sticking to it! hehe
