Posted - Jan 22 2010 : 10:02:49 AM Dad & such. Tried to post the other day & for whatever reason,it just wouldn't work. Everything is fine here-the rain was so horrific on the day Dad had his cataract removed & the day after check up a friend drove us. Dad's still adjusting to his lens replacement but is now commenting on the lighting is too bright in the house which is a welcome relief. I have Ga Girls package ready to go (along with orders from the store) but have held off mailing due to the heaviest, most unrelenting rain I've seen since around '98. I don't want packages getting super soggy (like some of the mail I've been receiving) or lost. Hoping to mail Sat or Mon at the latest. Got woke up in the wee hours while it was still dark last night-we had unbelievable high winds, hail, ultra hard rain-I really thought that perhaps a possible tornado was in the works-slammed my bedroom window for a long time. Scared Sassy the cat-I thought she was going to climb inside my rib cage. All in all we've been unbelievably blessed. I got the week off from the part time job due to dads procedure,no leaky roofs or any damage thru the whole thing. A full pantry too-meaning we haven't left the house since tuesday. And to top it off I won a student fiddle in an auction w bow & case for $39. Waiting for it to arrive. The apricot tree should do great this year from all Natures watering!

Posted - Jan 25 2010 : 03:32:48 AM Had it been snow last night we'd have been buried too!
But no, we got pounded by (more) rain and the ground was still saturated from rain last week. Really not good for creatures with hooves.
This isn't a complaint. I just don't wanna hear it come August when folks start commenting about drought.
And I'm seriouisly hoping for an awesome berry year all around.
Last year's wild balckberry crop was pathetic. I'm completely out for making jelly now, so the pressure is on |
