Check out the Bachelors of Highbury Quiz at the PBS web site...(Emma)
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/emma/quiz_results.

Here are my results of the Quiz----

Drum roll please....

---------------------------------------Mr. Henry Woodhouse

"He was a nervous man, easily depressed; fond of every body that he was used to, and hating to part with them; hating change of every kind."

You possess a tender heart, a nurturing spirit, and an infinite patience. You favor the familiar and find nothing more rewarding than bringing comfort to others. You enjoy keeping house and are vigilant about your health and that of your loved ones. In this match, you've found the perfect beneficiary of your maternal talents.

"Everywhere beloved for the friendliness of his heart and his amiable temper," Mr. Woodhouse is the most esteemed of Highbury's old guard. With his love of tradition and his unabashed provinciality, this affable aristocrat personifies gentility. Even his eccentricities — an abhorrence of germs, bad weather, marriage, and anyone else's point of view — are mild. What he lacks in adventurousness and intellectual vigor he makes up for with his wealth of medical advice.

You'll always feel appreciated with this doting daddy figure by your side. As long as you keep your windows closed, your hours early, and your pharmacy on speed dial, you can expect no shortage of domestic bliss.

I paired with Robert Martin - every body spoke well of him. His mother and sisters were very fond of him. Mrs. Martin [said] that it was impossible for any body to be a better son; and therefore she was sure whenever he married he would make a good husband."

You're looking for a faithful partner and friend who won't let you down and who will build a solid future with you. You've found him in Mr. Martin.

Good-natured, hard-working, and devoted to his family, Mr. Martin is what anyone would call a "stand-up guy." Even his boss, Highbury VIP Mr. Knightley, calls him "an excellent young man." This respectable gentleman-farmer has an unflagging work ethic and a head for business, but he likes to unwind with moonlight walks and parlor games in his downtime. He has an open, curious mind and a gentle, forgiving soul. Close with his two sisters, he knows how to treat a woman and understands the power of a kind gesture. "Bad-boy behavior" isn't in his vocabulary.

You can look forward to many years of love, laughter, and the joys of life's simple pleasures with this steady and true companion.

Fortunately, I think I found him - in my own dh!

HA!!!! I much prefer a Regency piano forte composition to the stylings of the Beach Boys ;)

There is an Austen vampire novel out, I read. And also one about Austen zombies?

What is this? Masterpiece Theater or Big Love??

Actually, I'm suprised that nobody's written any Austen fan fiction set in 19th century Mormon America.

"No one's perfect, so you'll have to work through disagreements now and then (usually over something you've said or done). But, if you can get over his being right most of the time, you two should enjoy a fine life together indeed."

This cracked me up, Amie...Guess when I tick him off, he'll run to you and vice versa!!!

This was fun! I always enjoy the promotions from PBS when they do a month of Austen!

My results:

Mr. George Knightley

"You might not see one in a hundred with gentleman so plainly written as in Mr. Knightley."

You're looking for the complete package: a man with brains, good looks, a great job, perfect manners and a sizeable fortune to boot. Well, today's your lucky day.

As Highbury's wealthiest landowner and all-around great guy, Mr. Knightley is what your mother meant by "a good catch." He's a "sensible man" with a "cheerful manner" who loves his family and friends and has no patience for vanity or drama. Direct, down-to-earth and happily duty-bound, he proves time and again that chivalry is alive and well. He's a reluctant dancer but an astute judge of character and a trustworthy confidant. Overt displays of emotion or affection aren't exactly his thing, but you couldn't ask for a more caring or thoughtful friend.

No one's perfect, so you'll have to work through disagreements now and then (usually over something you've said or done). But, if you can get over his being right most of the time, you two should enjoy a fine life together indeed.

Mr. Frank Churchill

"Mr. Frank Churchill was one of the boasts of Highbury, and a lively curiosity to see him prevailed, though the compliment was so little returned that he had never been there in his life."

Who can resist a man who embodies those most alluring three Rs: rascal, romantic and raconteur? Not you. Add in a dash of tortured soul and a dose of wanderlust, and your heart is lost forever. Meet Frank Churchill.

Described by Emma herself as "the child of good fortune," Frank has been blessed with a spoil of riches: dazzling looks, an easy charm, a healthy inheritance, and a fine head of hair. Playful, proud, and passionate, he enjoys grand gestures and is a world-class flirt. Sure he's occasionally selfish and sometimes even careless, but his outgoing personality and willingness to laugh at himself (and others) make it hard to stay mad at him for long. Some may question his filial devotion or straightforwardness, but only the sourest curmudgeon could fault his gifts for flattery and spontaneity.

With his penchant for surprises and his occasional short fuse, you may be in for a bumpy ride with this imperfect gentleman, but you'll never have a dull moment. Bonne chance!
