It was a small thing really, I have my Grandmothers Franciscan Appleware set, used it all my life (60 yrs).But I always wanted Fiesta ware. thought since I had the appleware couldnt have the fiesta.Today I bought myself a place setting in red, and a setting in orange for hubby, put up all the other dishes and now am happy. Plus, told hubby no more paper plates, he loves them, it makes me feel shabby. I feel rich and well cared for. lucky me! |

I have been married for 35 years this June
Well.
I never had a set of dishes I brought myself !
MIL and my Mom brought me dishes
Mom gave me her old china( like new; but you know old)
and I have a every day set MIL gave me
When we moved into our new home we built this past Sept
I brought a new set of dishes that I picked out myself !
Just to please me
If they don't like what I picked out ; they can eat off paper plates
I think what I brought is pretty !
Sometimes, we just have to treat and please ourselves and the heck with what others think hugs sheila

I say GOOD FOR YOU!! I am doing the same thing. After Christmas i took stuff down and then decided it was time for my house to have MY things displayed on the mantle etc. It has always been my husbands (he is gone now) or the kids (they are all grown up) so it is ME time now. whew there I said it out loud.
So Lorraine you do just what you want to do. You deserve it. MB

Good for you. So often we just go along with things the way they are, not how we would like them to be. It didn't cost a fortune to be happy. You can add more if and when you want but for now you can enjoy each day using something you enjoy.
