Posted - Jan 12 2010 : 11:20:51 AM OK YAY! I wont be going all by my lonesome.
Now,I have been racking my brain for a good landmark once down the main drive. This is the extravaganza (my first)so there is going to be ALOT of people and ALOT of traffic and I cant think of a good place that wont require un-nessesary walking back to the outside venders. The inside venders are there year round and open on the weekends. I would like to concentrate on out-side. The out-side venders are from all over and are not here but for special events.
Idea: Anyone interested in going can e-mail me and I will give them my cell #. Once I am on the grounds I can locate a place. I would like to be there no later than 8am. But with a cell # we can always meet-up when ya get there. Seems like Sandy will be the only one joining me this time. Too bad for all the rest hehe. We are going to have great fun.
OK...for all those that would like to do this but need planning time. I have good news. The next Extraveganza is in Feb.19,20,21. (last 1 until next winter) That would be the one to make sure you get to cause they will be slashing prices so they dont have to truck inventory back north. I will scope out a meeting place, etc for the Feb Meet-up but unfortunately wont be able to make it to that one. I will be on a family camping trip at Johnathan Dickenson State park.
Marsha, I would love to come for tea and look forward to information about it.
Sandy, I look forward to having a fun farmgirl day. Bring your walking shoes, water and something to carry your new found treasures. Oh, and small bills. lol, but you knew that.

Posted - Jan 12 2010 : 10:03:08 AM I would love to have met you gals. We are having a garage sale this weekend. Will be working turning the garage into an apt. for our daughter and niece. I also have to use a wheelChair so unless it is all indoors I couldn't do it.
I want to have a tea party at my house in the future for all the Florida farmgirls. I live in the middle of the state.
Have fun without me.
Hugs, Marsha

Cold is a good description for here - surprisingly so is an even better one! All these folks (not including me, I am a native) came from up North to get away from the cold and "oops" found ice and sleet here. Still, it will not last as long as up "Nawth" and we should remember it fondly when the heat and humidity hit again! We Florida farmgirls seem to be coming out of the palmetto thickets, don't we?
Kayce, you and the girls shoudl have some fun this weekend...try not to buy the place out!

Posted - Jan 10 2010 : 08:08:37 AM Kayce,
Sorry I can't come this time - I am already committed to a crop next weekend and I have to complete the wedding album of my husband's son (our oldest) and his new bride, Liza - I will be working all weekend on this, even on MLK day. I would love to join some other time - maybe I can convince my cousin for us to meet at her farm in Howey-in-the-Hills, not farm from Mount Dora, and maybe we can plan a cookout, using the barn as a focal area (she had her daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner there several years ago). Let me check into that and I will get back when we can confrim plans. Meanwhile, have fun next weekend and I hope many "Sisters" join you...
Hugs and keep warm, Kim (aka missgive)

Posted - Jan 09 2010 : 7:20:30 PM I know it is spur of the moment kinda thing. Just thought I would throw it out there for anyone that would like to go they will have over 1,000 outside venders. It is actually for the full weekend but I am only going on Sat.
It would be bunches of fun.
