Posted - Jan 08 2010 : 04:23:14 AM Took a few pictures of the Inside of the child's old roll top I got at a garage sale a few years ago. Why the lady wanted to part with it I don't know. She said it was her Mother's when she was a little girl. I think I would have kept it. Snowing here today, oh thats not news. Well I will be going with my daughter today to the new wallmart thats about 10 miles from here. The BIG news is, I have never been to a Wallmart. Nancy Jo

Posted - Jan 08 2010 : 12:49:19 PM Funny Kristin, I think I will be fine, I like the thrift store better. I Did get a big grocery order, but didn't find the savings to be that much different from my reg. grocery store. Good thing I didn't find it to be the best store in the world, I have enough obsessions to deal with. HA. I will watch the thrift for the books for you. you just never know Nancy Jo

Posted - Jan 08 2010 : 12:26:36 PM Nancy, you're a Walmart virgin? You need to stay that way and not go. You'll be sucked into the Walmart Zone if you go. You'll be going 4 times a week now. You'll spend all your money there. I'll be saying a little prayer for you. I hope you don't get lost. We'll miss you here. (I am just joking)
I used the Mcguffey readers when I homeschooled my kids. I loved them. I loaned the whole set to a neighbor that was thinking about homeschooling her kids and she didn't and never gave them back. Then they moved. I was very upset about losing those books. So if you ever run across a set while thrifting, think of me. If you ever come back from the Walmart Zone. (Think Twilight Zone music here)

Posted - Jan 08 2010 : 05:45:32 AM Hosanna, Guess they were a bit late in my area in building one. There are some within 50 miles, but I stay pretty close to home. Anyway, they just built this brand new one and it opened a few months ago. So I plan to go there today and probably get lost in the store.

Posted - Jan 08 2010 : 05:36:35 AM When I go to the thrift I always look inside thing--ya just never know what ya might find. And I do wonder why people get rid of stuff, specially if it had been in the family. Odd!! I remember fountain pens and inkwells. MB
I have only been to a walmart once.
