Posted - Jan 01 2010 : 08:56:29 AM What unexpected thing have you learned that you love now that you're living the MJ way? For me, I've learned that the sight of a fluffy chicken rear-end is a beautiful sight (same with those amazing feet they have). I never in my wildest dreams would have expected that I'd be thrilled to see fluffy chicken rears some day.

Posted - Jan 05 2010 : 09:09:31 AM i have learned that support groups don't have to sit around in a circle and look eye-to-eye with you. Nope. Some support groups gather around a virtual porch, sharing their baked goods, talking softly while working on a craft project, and encouraging each other to do their best, listen with understanding to their worst, and propping them up with advice, suggestions or just prayers. I've learned that friendship on this forum goes pretty deep, and I can never tell y'all just how precious that is to me. Thanks, ladies.

Posted - Jan 03 2010 : 4:51:57 PM I've discovered that I too love aprons, even to the point of making my own. Also that building raised garden beds and planning my garden are FUN! That I wish I lived in a community that allowed chickens. That those hours I spent fishing in the pond and wandering around my grandparents' homestead when I was young have stayed with me all these years. cindy

Posted - Jan 03 2010 : 04:50:31 AM Just being at home. The total peace I feel when I look outside and see my sheep, chickens, garden and no one looking back at me across the road. The simple simplicity of it even though it is a lot of hard work. Rae

Posted - Jan 02 2010 : 8:01:47 PM First and foremost....after losing a very dear loved one 2 mos. ago and spilling my guts on another post here, I have some very good friends who helped me through it (Teresa, that would be you), and others also. Seems strange, I feel closer to you gals here than some of my friends. I've simplifed my life in a few ways the last year and really love that also. Many more things I love, but can only think of the obvious at the moment!!

Posted - Jan 01 2010 : 12:26:31 PM Sitting on the front porch and jawin' with hubby or the neighbors...or better yet, just watching the eagles (Bald and Golden) and Hawks fly about the sky or dive-bombing the squeakers, not talking at all, silence is golden.
Finding a good deal.
*Actually, the first two I've always loved, just got away from it for a while and now have re-found them.*
Bowling with a league. I always kind of thought bowlers were goofs but have found some nice people there, made some good acquaintances.

Posted - Jan 01 2010 : 11:30:51 AM I have learned that there a so many of us out there and that's so cool.
Although we come from diverse backgrounds and beliefs, the same common thread binds us all together....and that's a love for gardening, farming, making good use of the things we are already blessed with and not being afraid of gettin' a little dirty along the way.

Posted - Jan 01 2010 : 11:19:11 AM haha! for me it is the "Humor" on this forum.... I never new about "pasty butt"... learned that I am not the only farm gal to lock herself outside the house wearing flimsy P.J.'s,. not letting "mother" die(bread yeast foam), garden surprizes in the form of unwanted critters, and a ton of other silly stories to numorous to mention... Thanx for all the panty wetting laughs & giggles. Looking forward to more in 2010.
