I received my first ever catalog last week. I was so excited to look at it, but with the Holidays, it just sat on my coffee table. WELL! It was so beautiful, that I decided to leave it there during both Christmas parties we hosted...and every woman tried to take it! It's more like a coffee table book than just a run-of-the-mill seed catalog~~it's gorgeous!
Can't wait to place an order! Has anyone here used their seeds? Results for the CA/OR area?

I received a catalog in the mail before Christmas. What was strange is that I had never heard of Baker Creek, I very seldom order seeds from catalogs as there are enough local sources to buy from, and I never ordered a catalog. I pick up the mail for work (we only have box numbers here in Idaho City so everyone has to go to the post office) and I pick my mail up too so I had it at work. Even Lisa London, who orders from dozens of catalogs each spring, had never seen it.
If someone put my name in for a catalog you deserve a hug and a great big thanks.
I love the story of this business, starting it at 17. I wish I had been so focused at 17. If you get the catalog be sure to read his story of success on the first page. What a beautiful piece of art this is. I have now ordered one for my daughter in law who just started to garden last summer and has my two grandchildren who help her and would have a unique experience planting some of the more unusual seeds.
A story of success, perfect to go into the New Year with and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of the farmgirls everywhere. It sure would be fun to plan trips to visit various farmgirls around the country this next year...The Mountain Farmgirls of Idaho City would welcome any farmgirls who want to visit Idaho City and we probably have plenty of places between us all that we could put you up or park your trailer for a visit...just a thought for the New Year!

I got mine this year in a barter with Emilee Gettle (FG) and it has sat on my coffee table with the rest of my coffee table books because it is a beauty! Love it. I too had difficulty getting a catalog for the last couple years but in reading the catalog I discovered they have been so popular that they keep running out. I will be posting a pic on my blog tomorrow of the squash I grew last summer from their seeds. It is a beauty, I saved the seeds and ate it for dinner tonight. Yummy!

So glad all of you ladies are getting this catalog. I live about an hour away from Baker Creek, and still cannot seem to get one. Ha! We have ordered twice. I am hoping they are not out of catalogs. We never got the one we ordered last year either. Bummer. I may just have to drive down there and get one.
Enjoy,
Sheri

I have Bakers Creek and Heirloom Acres both in my favs so I'll be ready when seed ordering time comes. I did get a Jung seed & plant catalogue in last week. DH and I sat and drooled over the pics and wrote down what we want to plant next year. Funny gals aren't we...chomping at the but.lol

I order from them every year along with seeds from Seed Saver Exchange. Both are great companies. As you can see I am in Oregon. Have fun with your catalog, it is beautiful.
