Have you heard Amy Grant's song by that title, I Need A Silent Night? Here's the youtube link.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRSSsNbF29I&feature=related

I thought of it this morning and found it on youtube for one reason. Our own Christmas hustle and bustle is brought to a standstill as we mourn the sudden death of the wife of one of my husband's good friends. A healthy, happy, middle-aged woman who had a heart attack out of the blue. No warning signs, no risk factors. She died instantly.
Makes me think about what a gift each day really is. Makes me want to celebrate Christmas for just being Christmas, not all the other stuff.

It sounds like we are all looking for a simpler and more peaceful Christmas. May the Lord bless each of you and bring comfort to those who have loss.

Great words. When tragedy comes, a new focus happens also. I pray for them, and hope they find comfort in the fact that she died quickly and not like so many who fight cancer and other things.

Oh my heart is so sad for you and your friend's family. I hope the peace of Christmas comforts you just a little.

I am sorry for your loss. It should remind everyone not to take another minute for granted and to thank God daily for what we have. Thanks for the music link I enjoyed it.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

Yes, Christmas has become to much work and stress. What happened to a nice wool scarf and a new sled. Sorry about your Family friend. That must have been a shock being so sudden.

Thank you so much for posting that...what a wonderful gift you've shared!

Say to them, may the Lord bless you and protect you, May the Lord smile upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace. (Numbers 6:23-26)
