We took some pics of Violet this weekend to put into Christmas cards for family, so I thought I'd share a couple I just think (and I'm NOT biased WHATSOEVER) are super cute...I'm no computer wizard, but I like the weird editing stuff on Photobucket, so I made these like 50's era pics.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas Holiday Season!!!

It was taken at Germania Park (the very same place that holds the Oktoberfest you mention!)...we were last at the Kolping Societ for (wait for it...) an IRISH Wake!!! Justin's Uncle Gabriel married a West Side German and therefore, belonged to the society by default :)

I knew you were a Westsider! And though I've been to the Cheviot Harvest Homecoming Fair and the Panegyri Greek Festival many times, this was by far the best time we've had! We can't wait to go back for their Oktoberfest...in fact, that could be something we could all do together. And, when you move towards Brookville, you'll be right close!

Where was that pic taken?.. I , my dear, am a west sider through & through. Grew up going to the best Oktoberfest there is on Kemper Rd(can't even remember the name now, because as far as I am concerned, that is the only one)
Also went to school at Miami, so am very familiar with the Oxford landscape.
I oh so miss the northwest area, at least as it was when I lived there. Festivals, hayrides, Christmas tree farms, bonfires on the Great Miami, ice skating on many neighborhood ponds, sing alongs, & German parties to beat THE BAND~!
Had neighbors named Kalkhoff. they knew how to throw a party.
Man I miss that community.
Miss Vi knows good folk when she meets them.

Janice--I was having Yahoo problems today, too...must be overload or something. I just responded to you!!! That book sounds amazing...and yes, I know he'll like it especially. How thoughtful of you (but then, when aren't you?) for thinking of him.

Jonni - I'm having email problems like crazy here today. I sent you an email through the forum earlier. Did you get it? I'm off Friday until Jan. 4th. :) I want to send you David's email address and our cell phone numbers tomorrow if my Outlook gets fixed. I went shopping with Susan today and bought a book called "Fragments from France" for Justin(if you think he'll like it). It's cartoons by Captain Bruce Bairnsfather during WWI. It was published in 1917 and is like an oversized sketch book, each page a single, large cartoon.

I saw that video, Janice!!!! LOL!!! We cracked up when said, "Just throw it to me!!!"

I was, for some reason, afraid of the easter bunny...The picture of me with the Easter Bunny is pricelss. I'm literally scowling at the camera!

The blog picture is an awesome one, Jonni. She sure is a trooper! I was scared of/by Santa Claus when I was little. I saw a film of a tiny tot the other day who is sitting on the lap of a relative in her own house and 'santa' comes into the room holding a puppy out to her. Everyone tries to get the child to go over to Santa, but the wary little girl just looks at the big scary Santa and says: "Just throw it to me"! LOL!

I'm glad, Janice. Go for it :) That little face makes me happy, too!

There is also a pic of Violet on her blog with Christkindl from the fun Christkindlmarkt that Jus and I took her too in the latter part of November. It's an inherently German thing (could you tell by the name?) but she sat on Christkindl's lap and it's sooo cute!

I think I need to make a copy of those pics and pin them up in my office. :) That smiling little face helps cheer me up.

She sure is, Lisa...gets sweeter and sweeter every single day. What a funny girl, too! We just put new batteries in, and from your fave, QVC, I bought a nice little cam-corder for Jus for his birthday/anniversary gift, so she will be well documented :)

Thanks so much, Karin--I haven't forgotten about you up there, in the cold North Woods! We have a little something for you, though, admittedly, it probably won't get to you before Christmas. It will get there, though!!!!
