I'm writing this because I love this story and I think some of you gals will too:

My father in law told me a story about one of my mother in laws aunts. He said the family went camping. The aunt lived in WA at the time and they went camping in southern Oregon. Her husband was away and she had four young children. I believe the same woman eventually stopped having kids after her tenth! So she packed them all and went camping with the four of them, all under five I'm sure. While they were there they picked a TON of blackberries. At the end of the trip, she packed up all the kids, drove home. She unpacked the kids and the car, gave all four of them baths, put them to bed and then made a pie! My father in law was astounded at this. And he relayed the story back to her with amazement. Her response?

Well I couldn't let all those beautiful blackberries spoil!

I wish I could find that attitude about life, just do what needs to be done, don't think anything of it, and don't let the berries spoil! Ha!

What a great story! I love blackberry pie too! I used to make this fabulous one when I lived in the pacific northwest. I would drive out, pick fresh blackberries and then make a yummy pie with a buttery crust. Yummy!
