ok, I must truly be going nutty living up here in all this clean air....cuzzzzz
I was actually at Joanns Fabric store at 6am this morning.....Oh my Word! you would have thought they were giving away fabric from the looks of the amount of cars in the parking lot! and then to see these women amped on Java pushing carts stacked with bolts of fabric. I over heard one lady say to her friend, "I am up to $400" aacckk! I don't think I want to be her when she gets home & tells hubby how much she spent! lol!
I scored a "Cricut" machine & flannel fabric.....this was a 1st for me,,,can't says I'll do it again but at least I can say I did it once! lol!

I am SOOOOO not a black friday shopper.. well in true confession.... I am not much of a shopper in general I tend to be more of a hunter/gatherer. But when I do shop, I tend to avoid department type stores and hit the mom and pop places...the whole thing sort of excapes me.. but, I have a lot of girlfriends that just love that whole thing.. so to each their own..

Gracie~ the two cups of coffee for you.. may have been worth the trip for me LOL

I had to laugh, because I was making a joke to my grandson that I was thing about getting up at 4 am and going to the early sales. He said Grandma I really wish you wouldn't do that, I hear people get trampled to death and you're pretty short!!

I have done black friday the last couple of years. This year I went to Target after the rush for a few things. I did my black friday shopping online at amazon for the same price on Thanksgiving day itself! I am all about a bargain especially with all the videogame requests this year!!!! The tree is up and were ready to go!

Glad you had so much fun on your 'coffee buzz'! I too did the coffee buzz thing at Joann's just a different store! lol I would never have gotten into that line, I have never seen so much fabric stacked in carts in my life! I just picked up some yarn, a rotating cutting mat, some cotton batting and bamboo pillow forms. That was enough for me. Most was at least 40-50 % off, but still up there at $60. But I am pleased. It was my first 'black friday' and it really was not too bad at 7 am. I saw a lot of fabric stacked at the counter so they might have been busier before that.

.. I have worked at JoAnn's few years ago... I had to come in at 3 am to get ready for work and our dress code theme was PJs. I was utterly amazed to see all the cars in the parking lot before I was even there! I thought they were all nuts! ..but I loved them all anyways. I got to know "the girls", my customers, and they always brought me smiles!... so, yep yer a nut job... but the good kind! LOL

hey Kelly,
I luv Ikea...but the nearest one is a good 4hour drive..bummer!

Linda...lol! I too do not do the "Black Friday" shopping thing that is why this was kinda of an adventure...and oh yea! I was ampted on coffee too! lol!.
I asked one lady who had 2 carts full of bolts of fabric-flannel what she was making...she said quilts...so I suspect she is one of those gals who sews all Winter long and then hits the hand craft fairs in the Spring...and since the flannel was only $1.49-normally $4.99 that is why the ladies where there in droves....as for all the other items, it was pretty much the typlical 30-40% off...but there were a few 'lost leader' items like the Cricut cutting machine. I searched on line and found this to be the best price $74.99 so I am happy.

Nancy-Jo, I have to laugh, I had 1 cup of coffee, (DOMA organic by the way...really good)when I was getting ready and then poured a 2nd cup in a to-go mug...now understand I usually only drink 1 cup a day so to have a 2nd cup in less then 2 hours....I was nearly bouncing off the wall...wohooo wohoo! hahaha! But then hubby took me to breakfast and I had OJ so I was ok after that.....till I finally wound down & went to bed at 11:45...
Ok and now off to decorate the house for Christmas...turn on the Holiday music and light the Winter spice candles.....hubby had to go into work today so I have the whole place to myself this morning..yeehaw!

I'm in Seattle visiting my sister and I really wanted to go to IKEA...black Friday was great there...they don't have any sales or specials, so hardly anybody was there! It was a very relaxing trip, and I got some good stuff at good prices...better than I could get at home.

Nope, you're aren't . . . I avoid the shopping crowds!! Only time I would go is if it's a dire need or the sale of all sales on something that I REALLY NEED!!!!!
I refuse to spend money just to spend it and then boast about how much I spent. I'm more inclined to make comments about SAVINGS!!!
I'm careful with my HARD EARNED money . . .

Hi Grace, did ya get good prices on what ya bought?
Frankly I don't like excited crouds so I have never been to black friday shopping. I know some women who go just for the excitement and fun and don't even plan to buy anything! I used to dislike Christmas shopping at the mall because of the crouds but it's not so bad now.
Maybe that woman has a sewing business, or planning to make big long curtains...I still can't imagine spending that much! I used to spend no less than $100 at Joanne's but I learned to hide lots of crafts from hubby (I LEARED that from the FARMGIRLS! LOL).
Now as a single person I can't afford that so I'm more careful...I usually spend alot of time looking at the pattern catalogs...lots of crafts in them, not just clothes. I then buy the patterns when on sale. I have a great time doing that.
