I found the most amazing living room furniture today. And it was ON SALE!!! I went to Rooms To Go first. Looked around and found it. A couch, love seat and chair. Leather. Like a milk chocolate color. LEATHER. On sale. The floor model. $888.00. Then I looked at the most comfortable leather recliner with the power button to recline up and down. And it did not rock. It is so nice. My hubby will LOVE it. He may never get out of it. It cost as much as the other 3 pieces. But oh so worth it. I went to a few other places and looked around. Nothing jumped out at me like the first place.

So I went back. Got the guy to move the chair over to the recliner. It looked great together. I found some pillows about the same green as my walls. He held them up so I could see how it would look. It looked great. I told him I'd come back tomorrow with my hubby. SO he was moving the chair back and there was a couple looking at the sofa. Like they were interested. I said I would go ahead and buy it now. Since it was a floor model and the only one. Nothing like a little pressure to make up my mind for me.

We can't get the sofa set til Monday. We have to go pick it up. And they will have to deliver a brand new recliner Monday. I am SO excited! We have not had new furniture in years. This is our Christmas present.

Enjoy your new furniture. Thanks for knowing that I was only joking with you!

Marly, we tried to save the couch. That was Bubba's couch. We tore the arms off and I thought we could save the bottom and back but the front legs came off with the arms. So they have the cushion out there to lay on. Also cut off the biggest cushion from the recliner. We had to do the couch that way. Getting it in 5 years ago was a nightmare. It took 4 people and I still think it was a miracle. Anyway, it was a mess and needed to go. The recliner was literally falling apart. Truckin' Man was using the arms to push himself up out of the chair and they were coming apart. There was wood showing. It hurt to sit in it. So we saved a little bit of them both for the critters. They are happy.

And yes, I went Sat. shopping for the furniture and went ahead and paid for the recliner so it would be delivered today. Then went today to pick up the other 3 pieces. It really looks so much better and cleaner and warmer. It's all brown leather. Nice.

Kris:
Is this the new furniture you replaced the thrown out chair with? LOL I still think your dog or cat would have loved the old chair. LOL

I went this morning and got my furniture. It's about 50 miles there. And I had to drive my big ole gas hog truck. So I go in and go to the back to finish paying for it all. The girl says, "You know you'll have to come back tomorrow and get it." I said, "WHAT? What do you mean I'll have to come back tomorrow and get it? The sales guy, Dean Jones, said I could come get it today." She says, "Yeah, the loading guys are not here on Mondays. He's new and probably forgot." I said, "Well, I just drove 50 miles in my gas hog truck to get my furniture and my hubby's here today and has to leave later and won't be here to help tomorrow. I need it TODAY! I am not going to turn around and have to come back tomorrow." So she called the manager and he said we could do it. I said thank you so much. I had to help him load it. But that's ok. I got my furniture. And the truck was about a mile from here when I left.

It is so pretty. I got it all in and rearrenged it all. It looks so good. We need a flat screen tv now to hang on the wall. It would be perfect then. I also need a pretty oval rug for the middle of the floor. That would set it all off.

But if ya'll ever go to Rooms To Go check out the power recliners. It lays all the way back. You can sleep on it. It's so comfy. Truckin' Man's (hubby's new name) already had a nap. That might not be a good thing, though.

Katie, I believe the recliner he's had for probably 20 years is a Lazy Boy. It is the Big Boy because he's so tall. But it's made in America, too. Cindy Crawford stuff is made in China. Just don't tell him taht. The other furniture I got is made somewhere down in Mississippi. So that makes up for it. I know about men and recliners. It's a guy thang for sure. I like my big over stuffed chair with the ottoman myself. I'll have to get used to this new chair. It's lots smaller. But now the living room won't look so crammed full of big ole furniture now.

Karen, I hope your hubby gets a recliner soon. Maybe Santa will be good to him this year and find a good deal on one!

Gena, the sales guy said they will come on Monday but they don't call. So someone will have to be here all day. Did your daughter get hers from Rooms to go, too? And that is great you thought of your parents and their furniture. I bet they do feel more at home with their own things there.

You got a great deal, girl! Enjoy your new furniture. We got a new recliner from La-Z-Boy this fall and my husband loves it. Men love that kind of comfort.

WAY TO GO KRIS!!
I am so happy for you.
I kinda did a sneaky thing when my parents moved in. I told Hubby that they would feel more at home, if we let them bring their Living room furniture. So, I sold all our old LR furniture, knowing someday I will get NEW.
But, I was right, they do enjoy having their own furniture here.
I hope they deliver your furniture when they said they would. My daughter had a heck of a time with them.

Oh you are so lucky! Just want Ive been wanting and I know my hubby would just die to have a recliner, he's never had one. I have a friend that is giving me her old leather love seat and couch she said I would have to clean it up, but thats okay I have wanted a leather set for a long time! Maybe Ill look to see if I could afford a recliner for Christmas. Hope you enjoy yours! Blessings,Karen

Alee, I was just wondering the same thing as I was laying in bed unable to sleep. I wanted hubby to see it before I bought it because he needed to see if he'd fit the recliner. I could have waited to get that. But the sofa set was the only one so if someone else bought it, that would have been it for me.

When I told my hubby the recliner was a Cindy Crawford piece, he said "you mean it's a woman's chair?" He's so funny.

CJ, I hope you get yours one day, too. We just really needed places to sit here.

That is awesome Kristin!!

Huh- I wonder if a furniture store could make that a selling strategy? Have a couple employees dress up like normal people (not in uniform) and have them be pretend shoppers....
