Posted - Nov 05 2009 : 11:58:12 AM Mom and I stopped by to check on how the house is coming along that I'm going to rent from my aunt. Well I know that it can take time to get things fixed. But it has taken my cousin almost 2 months to fix the water lines in the kitchen and put the kitchen sink back together. He still has the shower attachment and curtain ring to install and the washer and dryer hookups.
It is really driving me crazy not being able to work on any crafts and I have two for sure that have got to be done by Christmas. My girls have both requested fleece blankets and I have got to get busy! I have the money put back for the move and it can just sit in it's safekeeping spot. The boxes can go to the recycle center and I can get halfway back to normal. I just really wanted to get moved before the year was out. Just doesn't look like it's going to happen. Sorry girls, just needed to vent.

Posted - Nov 05 2009 : 6:01:26 PM Can't really move anything of mine into the house. My mamaw's things, most of her things, are still all over the house. So there's not really any room for anything else. I've offered to help sort through mamaw's belongings or even to help my cousin with the repairs, but my aunt says no, no they'll get it done. Actually the things I have packed are the things we don't really use. The only problem with leaving them boxed is there is no good place to store the boxes. Right now they are in a huge stack in my living room and there is another huge stack in my bedroom. I don't have a storage shed so they can't go there. The good thing is that I have moved a lot in my life so packing boxes takes practically no time for me.

Good luck!

Posted - Nov 05 2009 : 12:51:59 PM Oh that is so frustrating! I am sorry that it is taking so long! Hopefully once it all starts coming together, it will happen much faster! *hugs* Is there anyway to pack the stuff that you don't need in day to day life? Like summer clothes and such and just set those aside? That way you will have that much less to do?

Posted - Nov 05 2009 : 12:12:55 PM Melanie, I really can understand your frustration. We have land and want to build but try to get someone to call you back or give you an answer or just show up for an appoint to get things rolling is sooooooo maddening. Just wasted a whole morning driving out to our land, waiting for a no-show appointment then driving back. Seems some businesses just don't need the ..... business!!! It did tell us that if we want something done, just do it ourselves. I do hope you get moved before the year's end. Chris in OK
