My Mom used to play the ukulele when I was growing up. Very fond memories of singing around the campfire!

Hi Sherrie.
I play the little ukulele and meet with a group of friends here once a week to play. It's so much fun! My mom played piano when I was growing up and we used to sing around the piano, so I know tons of 30s and 40s standards, and those translate really well to the uke. Learning to play the uke gave me a singing voice I didn't even know I had, and doing it at 55 gave me a great new pasttime!

George Harrison loved the ukulele, and said about it:
"Everybody should have a uke - it's so simple to carry with you and it is one instrument you can’t play and not laugh! I love them - the more the merrier. Everyone I know who is into the ukulele is “crackers.” So get yourself a few and enjoy yourself!
