It's been forever since I have had a chance to come on and say hi to everyone here.. It's been insane with the packing and the hauling of everyting back and forth. This is my last week here in Spokane and then we get to try to adjust to apartment living for a few months, just when I should be getting started on my garden.. Just last fall I tilled up the wole rest of the field so I could start to grow and sell my pumpkins..

I'm thinking I am going to go a little wiggy not being able to get out and play in the dirt.. any tips for people stuck in a little apartment? I figure I could start a chia herb garden or something corny like that.. but thats teeny tiny compaired to what I was supposed to start here. (I don't get my own porch.. it's a shared area so container gardening is out too.)

you can be oh so smart, or you can be oh so positive. I wasted a lot of time being smart I prefer being positive.

We should be in the apartment for 6 months (so that Hal has worked in his new field long enough to get financing for the build) then we will start building a house in Helena Valley, and we will either stay in the apartment for a while longer while we do that, or if it is vacant, we can rent a mobile home that some friends of my husband own.. the mobile is a block away from where we will be building so it would be an easy move for us once it was finished.

I have a lot of ideas for the big garden.. well with as much space as we will have to spread out it will be more like a small farm than a garden, we are even going to build a huge greenhouse.. but it will all depend on how fast the build goes before any of that can be a reality.

All and all it will be an adventure, but being the first day of spring and looking at all the prep work that I did in the fall just waiting for me to dig in and get my spring work done is a little frustrating... I have only met the new owners once but they didn't strike me as the type to put out the work to maintain everything I have going here.

Moving can be so stressful - good job on getting it done. So, when you say that you'll be living in an apartment for a few months, where are you going from there? You may have mentioned this before, but I've forgotten...sorry!...

What about doing a great garden plan and starting some perennials in the meantime?

This sounds like it could be a great adventure, and it's so nice to have your voice back here!!!

XOXO, Libbie
