Posted - Oct 13 2009 : 10:47:19 AM As most of you know, we are anticipating the move into our "new" house come Decemeber. While CR is fixing up the things that we can before we get in, I have been rolling ideas for painting, decorating, etc in my brains..hehe Don't we all do that?! I have big plans, but I stink at matching colors and such. I have hunter green couches with small cream and gold flecks in it. I am hoping that I can paint the living room a pretty sage green and it not be too much. I have many options to work with, and was just wondering your opinions on matching. I am going to make my own curtains and can't decide if they would be prettier in a rust orange color or maybe marroon ruffle with white centers. Then I can match doilies and flowers carpets and such. Has anyone done the green, marroon, and golds color scheme before or seen it done well? I'd love suggestions as to shades colors and what colors to put where. I went to Sherwin Williams.com and did their little color thingy but you never really know because you cant make their furniture match yours.
(Can you tell I am excited to be getting into the house??? :D ) hugs
Jessie
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.

Posted - Oct 13 2009 : 11:21:47 AM Jessie, I am so happy for you, and really understand how important color is. I thrive on color. My living room has an olive green chenille sofa, a dark yellow/beige chair and ottoman with a large pink, green and darker gold cabbage rose print, and I have an oriental rug in deep maroon, gold and black. My thoughts on color is that if it's a palatable, soothing combination to you, then go for it! I know whatever you do it'll be pretty!
