Update on Scott's medical issues...First, we have confirmation that YES his neck has 3 herniated disks and his back has arthritis, now his acid reflux study came back and he has 4 TIMES the amount of acid than a regular person. 2 for 2 now...that discharge is one day closer. I don't mean to sound happy for his issues but gosh, after being told for YEARS he was faking it or just being a pain, we have valid confirmations on both. The more ammo we have before the discharge/medical board, the better chance we have of getting out.

***BIGS NEWS*** Scott went to yet another specialist and they said IF within a month, he is not better and elects not to do surgery, based on a few more findings and opinions, they are going to recommends a MEDICAL BOARD!! Can I get a YEE HAW and happy dance!?!?!? The surgery option is usually turned down because who wants surgery on their neck??? Army won't risk it. Oh Please...let this be our POSITVE ANSWER!!!

I still have to deal with the VA myself..ugh!!!
Yes, this will be a disability, whether they pay us a lump sum to get out or pay us by the % of the disability per month when we get out, we still can go to the VA afterwards. We have the paperwork and the ins and outs all printed out. : ) Let's just say, the minimum lump sum we would get..I mean minimum, is more that he makes in 3 years in the Army right now... so I am praying. It's not all about money but it would certainly set us up for life. And he so deserves it. : )

Do some happy two-stepping! When he goes to medical board, they may bring up disability, if not, he needs to find out who to talk to. The Army originally only gave me 10% and I raised enough cane with VA that I'm now 20%. My problem is, I have to keep dealing with VA if I want to raise it, and I really hate the VA here in OKC. I am so sick of the way I am treated!! But I may suck it up and start going over there again.

I pray everything works out for you. I have acid reflux so bad i cant breath sometimes. Who would think something that sounds like a little bit of a pain could turn out so serious. I hope he gets better and you all get what you want. And dont ever feel bad for being happy right now. We know you arent happy cause he's hurting. HUGS

When you have to hold your husband's head over the toilet so he can vomit from the pain and the medication he is on makes him loopy, you KNOW something is wrong. Unfortunately, military docs are just in the patch and go mentality. We WILL overcome!!!

I know & understand your relief. Years ago,my Dad started experiencing what is called a "binine tremor" in one of his hands. This is a guy who never went to drs for an annual or anything. Every dr he saw told him " it was all in his head" as it would never act up during the visit. This went on for years. Finally,it has developed to the point that a dr did realise there was something going on,& after an MRI to ensure it wasn't a brain tumor he now sees a neurologist once a year to see how he's doing with it & to ensure it's not going into Parkinsons. But it really frustrated my dad that Drs would think he was just wanting attention or was a hypochondriac. Great news that Scotts problems have been "verified" but geez, how insulting that it wasn't believed before!

I am the QUEEN of medical records---it's my job!!! I always take the original, make 3 copies, put one set in our fire box, one in our future VA folder and one for Scott to toodles around with. Everytime I get a paper, I do a happy dance. : )

Keep copies of those records. Scott can probably get some sort of disability out of it. I get 20% and that's for degenerative disc disease and because my shoulder never came back to 100% after surgery for separation. I'll pray for you that for once they move fast and get y'all home. With the holidays coming, I'm betting you can't wait!!
