I just stood there enjoying them they seemed to be "testing" their new legs, lol d hubby has 2 brothers living across the creek one in the old farm house he and his family fixed up and the other up on the other hill in their new home We have about 13 or a little more head of cattle between us the calves are so cute. we have several new ones. they always come up around dinner time and watch us eat our supper through our new kitchen /dinning room bay window I sorta fell guilty though when we have hamburgers!! lol hugs sheila

Posted - Oct 06 2009 : 06:58:46 AM Sheila - I'm with you. There is nothing like watching the little ones at play. I especially love it when one of our little bull calves try to take on their daddy, Elvis. 80 lbs. vs. 2500 lbs is quite a difference, but we really love it when Elvis lets them win!

Posted - Oct 06 2009 : 06:21:21 AM Sheila, sounds like you are really enjoying your new home. And the veiw looks so good, too. That's what we do at our table. Watch RFD TV. It sure is entertaining and it's free! My Cowboy has an appointment with the butcher the 20th. Just 2 more weeks! But I'm leaving him hanging in the cooler for 10 days so it will be around the first of Nov. before we have those burgers. Yum!! I can hardly wait! So have fun with your little guys and enjoy the view!

Posted - Oct 06 2009 : 05:58:16 AM Watching our calves run and jump is one of my favorite times of spring. They always seem to get more active when their mama's are eating at chore time and not keeping as close a eye on them as usual. Enjoy their antics.

Posted - Oct 06 2009 : 03:47:38 AM It really is fun to watch the calves play. I got a new little jersey bull calf right now. Last night he was trying to be all tough, and jump around and play and butt, when I was cleaning the pen. Our beefers usually played alot just before dark. Maybe that helps them settle down to sleep!
