Okay, so there's not really one. Sorry to burst your bubble. LOL! But don't you wish there was one? I think it would be GREAT. Maybe it's already been thought or talked about on here, but I haven't seen it. I wish HGTV would get out of their rut and routine ways and open up to some other styles and shows... or maybe it would be on TLC ... or DIY... We have a channel called "Create" here that it would be perfect on! I WISH!

I actually emailed RFD to suggest a program that would kinda be like RFD meets HGTV, but never heard back. I'm about sick of the HGTV programming that caters to the more moneyed (any one of YOU have very high six figures to spend on a 'fixer upper'?). I do like some of their programs, and have gotten some ideas off hte others, but for the most part, my HGTV viewing has dropped considerably.

I've actually thought about that. I wish we could just pick out a customized channel package, only picking what we want. There's so many channels wasted because we just have to get them along with everything else! Ah, well. lol.

I googled it and don't think we get the chanel. I saw Allen P. Smith was on there. I like a lot of his shows. I don't think we get it though.
Too bad we cant't just get the shows we want for a decent price.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

That sounds like it would be a good idea to have MJF on T.V.

Well, it's a separate channel other than PBS actually! I guess it depends on regions!

Thanks Betty.... I'll look for it. I didn't know it was still showing anywhere.

lilwing.... I'll look for Create on the PBS channel. I haven't noticed it, but I haven't really looked on there for anything new lately either.

On my cable, it's 298 and it's actually the Public Broadcasting (PBS) that does it... It's pretty new to me too!

Peapicker,
A Gardener's Diary is on HGTV and from what I read, is still on. Of course, whether they carry it on your HGTV channel is unknown. They dumped Alex Anderson and her Simply Quilts show about 5 or so years ago, so who knows where it is. My PBS station keeps recycling old gardening shows as far back as 2003.

Hope you can find it again. I just Googled it.

You'd probably like "Create" too.. it's sort of like that but with cooking, travel, artistic, and garden shows!

I was just thinking how good it would be on RFD. I think there would be a great demand for it. I watch Texas Country Reporter too. It is one of my favorites. We can get that one on PBS here also. The RFD channel has new ones and reruns on every day. I like because its just normal people with really interesting lives.

Peapicker, they also have a show called Texas country.

I would love a Maryjanes farm show, that would be great. I would want it on RFD-TV, I love that channel.

Well, we don't have direct tv so maybe that's it. LOL. I wish they had it on our cable. :D

I didn't know Houston didn't have it. It is a really good channel. We have direct tv , but not sure if cable has it. Yes, it has some great horse shows on there. My husband likes the antique tractor shows.

I WISH we had RFD channel! I love the shows about horses too. I guess it's because I live in Houston. We can get the channel when we are visiting my mother-in-law in East Texas!

I actually see more interesting shows on the RFD channel now. They have California Country which is mostly about farming , Living the Country Life that has had some good pieces on milk cows and goats. The shows are usually only about 30 minutes each, but really pretty good. There are some other ones that have tractors and just farm life too.

Yes, so much is missed out on. I'm almost 30 and it's weird to even ME because you never see kids playing out in the street and such. It used to be that way even when I was a kid ... I think I remember A Gardener's Diary. That's one reason I like our channel "Create" because it has some similar type of shows. When will these bigger corporation tv channels realize we don't want to see the same concept with just different names? That's what I feel it always is. Same show, different name! But I'm digressing really ...

I remember one years ago and I think it was called " A Gardeners Diary". The woman that hosted it always wore a straw hat and I really liked it. I can't find anything on there like that now. Just think if people were educated and excited about even small scale farming we could have a garden and a few chickens in every yard ( might have to change a few city regulations first). It would even give kids something to do other than tv and video games , not to mention the world of texting. Really, there is so much more to life than lots of people realize. I think a good tv show would really spark some interest.

Well, I know HGTV talks about being "green" and all but yes, I can't relate to alot of it either. It's very ..trendy .. or just stuck in the same rut of a particular style... It's so boring! I remember HGTV having more on gardens when it first started out (Home and GARDEN TV) .. but they really mostly stopped. It's too bad really.

I think I remember it being discussed before, however, yes I would LOVE it and be a regular viewer. I wish hgtv would start showing more on gardens..... like real gardens. I hardly watch the show because I just can't relate to it most of the time. Mary Janes would be a big hit I think and would do the country so much good to learn how to take care of themselves a little bit more.
