This weekend (Oct. 3-4) is the Skagit Valley Festival of Family Farms. It is a hands on educational and fun weekend event where the barns are open for everyone.
I have been going for the past few years and it is interesting.

That sounds like a really cool idea--I wish there was something like that around here. I visited an alpaca farm last weekend and now I'm browsing through Alpacas magazine. I want a place in the country so bad!
