A local community group (the Jaycees) hold a HUGE yard sale/flea market in the next town over.(where my dad lives) So I decided to go even though it was calling for extremely heavy rain and storms and flash flooding, and boy am I glad! I snagged a whole BIG plastic bin of cotton fabric (most with yardage) that were absolutely beautiful (some vintage) for only $5. WOW. Then as I was walking through the next row of "vendors" I scored a trash bag FULL to the top with yarn, that was all brand new still in the sealed plastic, for $5. Then I came home to find that all of my barters on here came today. Which meant another HUGE box of yarn(thanks Hosanna) and some cones of sport weight yarn which I will be using for socks and various other projects (*wink* Julie) and then another box of crochet thread in which I will use for my newly accquired skill of tatting. (hehe Jennifer) So now all week I will be putting this stuff away!! It felt like Christmas here
Then a good friend of mine asked me to come to their farm for my son to pick pumpkins with her kids and she gave me TONS of gourds and pie pumpkins and pumpkins for my son to carve or paint. So all of that I only spent $10 today!!!!!!!!

Hey Angela; glad you're using my yarns! I love the stuff you sent me too! Yay! I stuck a pic on my blog of it. It is in a post about what I did this weekend. Check it out if you're interested! And thanks again! This was my first Farmgirl Barter ever and I love it what a swell idea!

twice a year, there's an area that covers blocks of a neighborhood. They have a neighborhood wide yard sale. You just park the car & walk walk walk-wonderful deals to be had-sorta like trick or treating except it involves shopping! You never know what you'll find at these events-I've come away with good deals on fabric, music books, shirts, autographed books, antiques, all sorts of stuff.

Melody June, a pie pumpkin has a sweet flavor, much sweeter than a "big" pumpkin. They are smaller also.

Way to go Angela!! Yippeeee Skippeeeee

Now tell me what a pie pumpkin is please. I've never bought a pumpkin to make a pie so what is the difference with that and a halloween pumpkin?
