Twigs Birthday Celebration.

Oh you all I can not begin to tell you about my wonderful birthday adventure....I haven't had a birthday celebration since I was a young child with my Holly Hobby Birthday Party. But when I got Frannie's invitation to go to her Carrot Class and Spring Celebration that was scheduled on my birthday at Glovers Station, I thought PERFECT.....just another excuse to go visit my Dear Friend Frannie.

So I packed up my mother and my crafting supplies with my birthday money and we hit the road on Friday morning, After getting a bit side tracked at the peddlers mall and finding wonderful treasures we finally got back on track and after getting lost a bit, ok, so I cant go anywhere with out getting side tracked or making some U turns. We ended up a the lovely Glover Station Antique Mall reuniting with my dear friend Frannie.

Oh I must tell a little bit of laughter....If you all still have your Mother with you, I suggest you spend some time with them, for their truly isn't anything as more as important as sharing some memory makers with your mother....As we drove around the hills of Kentucky, I had my mother tell me the story the day I was born....it was so enjoyable......I so love spending time with my Mama. anyway, back to the funny part I was going to tell you. Dear Mama never has her car on empty. So I am drying her car and all the sudden the miles left till gas is gone , IS GONE.....and it says Low Fuel........well I ask mother how much more time that means and she has no idea.......Mother began praying for God to not let us run out of gas on a country road......I told her , have no fear, Frannie will save us....Frannie taught me that when she travels down the road and runs out of gas, that she just calls 911 and has the policeman bring it to her....(now is she some sweet talker or what.) As we finally approached the gas station on fumes I'm almost positive....Mother put in her credit card and I began pumping gas. Mother went into get us sodas and the nice check out lady asked her if she was paying for gas and mother said no. Well we were about to get into the car when I looked up at the machine and noticed it said PAY CASHIER...now thankfully mother went in and asked the girl if it took her credit card......but it had not........so we were about to drive off without paying for our gas as to which we would have been arrested........Frannie being the good friend she is, said she would have bailed me out....hee hee

now back to the stories..
After finding primitive treasures here and there, Frannie introduced me to her wonderful sweet friend Kathy from Sugar Bucket Antiques. Oh my Kathy is a doll, I was so honored to get to meet her and her talent is beyond measure. This chick knows her stuff on early American primitive antiques. Her collection is UNREAL. have no fear, she is wanting a web site and I am going to show her how to do it come tomorrow so you call can be droolin over her treasures.......it truly has been a blessing to meet Kathy.

As we ventured around the country hills of Kentucky, finding junk stores and primitive shops and garden tours, we laughed and shared stories and so enjoyed each others company.

At supper time we met up with Honey Hunk Hank, as to which he is such a delight to be around, I tell you, he and Frannie are truly soul mates, once you see them together you just see the passion in their eyes for each other.......I do declare I had the best time at supper. Hank is a story teller too just like sweet Frannie......

Frannie was so sweet to rent a darlin cabin in Greensburg as to which we stayed up yacking all night long and laughing and sharing life stories, along with crafting. yes after my mishaps of chalk ware, I finally got it down and thought heck I can teach them how to do it too, ha ha....they did turn out darlin.......

On Saturday we ventured around to more shops as to which I found a darling primitive cupboard for $35.00 and some gallon blue ball mason jars for 50 cents. the man at the junk store didn't think we could get it in the van, but we ladies showed him how to pack down a van with treasures.....now I have another excuse to go to Frannie’s this week to pick up my cupboard.

oh I forgot, we got to take a tour in the historical cabin, that isn't done yet for the community in Greensburg, you see the Pastor in Greensburg, I believe gets a spring in his step when sweet Frannie comes around, and he offered to take us on a tour of the dear old place. Seems the cabin was built and then a house was built around it hiding the old dwelling. many moons later, the town tore down the house and found the historical lost log cabin......as to which they are restoring it and I tell you, it is darlin. That area is just covered in old log homes....

as we ventured for my birthday breakfast, we got side tracked several times.....we were heading to a wonderful new coffee shop, and well, as we yacked and gabbed we meandered down the hills and well finally poor Eddy was starving and I was so worried Frannie was going to into diabetic shock........after go hither and yawn we finally back tracked, never made it to the coffee shop but found a wonderful country restaurant for a home cooked breakfast of fried balonie, as to which Frannie being the nawtherner she is, didn't like, but we made her try a piece and she liked it.......you see, little by little she is turning southern......hee hee

As we meandered through the countryside, Frannie took me to this darlin shop, nestled beside a sweet home of Pamela Anthony. Her little primitive garden shop is to die for. I believe I met another kindred soul.......we yacked for what seemed hours, couldn't hardly part, and after purchasing a darlin suit case she had painted. Pamela, asked me what I was going to do with the suit case, as to which I told her use it for my clothes......she doesn't think I’m going to carry it around on my trips....but I most surely am. it is beautiful.

Very soon she will have a web site up too for me to share with you all, for I am going to show her the ropes of the net world........you all just have to see her wooden treasures, they simply are so primitive and just adorable......

the more we traveled around the more junk stores we found......at the end they seemed to multiply and the treasures did as well........oh I found some wonderful treasures....I will be posting more pictures when I find the camera from the luggage....(as to which I’m just like Frannie and forgot to take one picture this trip.)

We meandered are way back to Cabin Creek Farm and I have to tell you Frannie has done wonders to the Cabin this past year.....I love the view from atop the hill now, when you look down and see the old church house painted red it is stunning....I got to stand under the outdoor shower and am amazed at how darling it is....you should see the little tree branch towel racks Frannie has on the barn to hold their towels.......I tell you it is heaven.......

oh the cabin has begun to transform into a luxury.....Kathy is amazing with her craftsmanship of creating old weathered wares.......
Cabin Creek Farm is Bliss I tell you........if you haven't been, well you are truly missing out.......and I have to say if you haven't met Frannie.......then you must. something about her is just Magical.......I have never in my life encountered such a soul.......it truly is a blessing.......

and Frannie, thank you so much for blessing me with your friendship and sharing my birthday with me........you are a dear friend that I treasure.........
and ill see you tomorrow I believe.......

Twigs,

Loved your stories of your birthday weekend with Frannie! I just have to come to Kentucky one day and travel the junk & antique circuits with you and Frannie. Can't wait to see pictures, especially of the suitcase.
