Hubs and I got hungry for pumpkin pie, bought one at the supermarket, baked it at home and it was awful.Yesterday I got all of the ingredients together (I cheated on the tart shells, bought those) and make 20 pumpkin tarts. We had 2 each with real whipped cream and cold goat's milk.I will freeze what we don't eat after supper today. This time I year I make tarts instead of whole pies, it is just the two of us and a whole pie goes bad before we can eat it all. The bonus is next time we want pumpkin pie, I will just thaw out what we want and there is no waste.

what a good idea about the tarts - I am the pie eater in the family and do not need a whole one LOL

I have been thinking about Pumpkin pie too. For some reason this time of the year gets me baking and cooking more. It makes the house more cozy. I just baked some Applesauce Spice Bars and frosted them with Butter Cream Frosting. So Yummy!

Pumpkin pie - DH's favorite. I should make one. I love pumpkin bread more then the pie. All fall long he can't get enough of Pumpkin pie, I am surprised he hasn't said anything yet - usually when the weather starts to turn he usually is asking about the pie.

I always make tons of pumpkin pie during the holidays and take them to friends and family whenever we visit.

I know my DH and I could polish off a pie with out any problems. In the past if we have to much of a good thing we call our neighbors over and share. I think I will try the tart crusts for pies it does sound like a good idea.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

the store bought ones are gross, and they are the easiest pie to make! Funny, my sister and I could eat a whole pumpkin pie on our own, we need no one else! lol haha Pumpkin is our favorite veggie! lol

Pumpkin pie- yummy. If it's homemade and not from the store. The tarts sound like a good idea. That way you can have it when you want it. I'll do that next time. Welcome Katheryn you'll really have fun , lots of gals and good info if one needs it. I see that your from Texas also. I'm down in Alvin towards the Galveston coast.
