Ladies,

I had such an incredible walk this morning that really lit a fire under me and inspired me to begin a wish list of all the things I'd like to do this fall that I know will specifically fill me up and bring me joy!

1. Take sewing lessons
2. Bake early for holiday gifts
3. Put specific "look books" together of all the recipes, decorating ideas, kitschy gadget and misc. articles and items that I've pulled out of magazines.
4. Sew a really fine vintage repro car coat for myself!
5. Learn how to sew beautiful, professional looking aprons & pillows.
6. Make dilly beans.
7. Spend quality time with my lovely boyfriend in our new home.
8. Find an amazing job with an amazing employer(s) who is generous, loving and kind. This job will be close to my home and will have regular working hours and some flexibility for travel and time off.
9. Travel to Washington State to spend time with my family and friends.
10. Finish the 1st floor of our new house including painting the trim, getting the radiators in before it gets too cold and decorating so that it feel like home.
11. Spend quality time with my daughter.

I could go on and on, but that's a great start.

I can hardly wait to see what's on your list. I'm sure it will inspire me to add to mine.

Have a wonderful day!

Sometimes I think my wish list is bigger than my farm, but I'll try to cull it a little bit!
1. Learn to spin
2. Get a small herd of Pygora goats and Angora rabbits -- in order to spin
3. Finish up some of the projects we've started
4. Finish my raised bed garden
5. Talk dh into letting me have a couple more areas for corn -- for meal and for canning
6. Jersey cow -- I want to milk!
7. Finish the inside projects
8. And most important -- GET A NEW ROOF!!!!!!
Can y'all guess which one'll probably have to come first??????

I know that you can be energetic when you are young and when you are advanced in years. I guess sometimes it is a state of mind or not enough sleep. Mine comes from chronic illness and that stupid broken leg I broke. Pain is not for sissies. But I'm not complaining too much yet. With a full list I don't have time to check out, ho,ho.

Bonnie, there are days I feel so old and then I have to shake myself and remember that 48 is nuthin'. (Quit whining, already!) DH asked me yesterday how I have so much energy and he is always so tired. My answer was 'excess caffiene!' This would get me in big trouble with my weight loss surgeon so don't tell!

Looks like a gorgeous day here today, hope yours is too!

PS...Linda, add a little 4" long narrow-hemmed loop just like the commercial bags have on one side in between the grocery bag handles and you can eliminate a small percentage of the grumpiness from store baggers who hate using these bags. <G> Helps the bags attach to their stands for somewhat easier loading.

Thanks for the understanding Dawn! Amen to the walk. I'm going to venture into the world of Gluten-free cooking today. A friend of ours just had a baby and is gluten-free. I'm going to cook, bake and create a bunch of tasty dishes for her to help with the transition. This should be a grounding, happy challenge for me today.

I hope yours is full of smiles.

I understand about your meltdowns, I've been under a lot of pressure these past months too. Mine have to do with my side of the family and some stuff at work.

Like you, I stop and count my blessings, which are many, too many to ignore! I hope things get better for you. I think we both need to take a nice long walk & enjoy this beautiful day!

Molly, thank you so much for the link to "Getting Cozy with Posie" I see she has the pattern for the shopping bag available, which you are right, would be a fantastic Christmas present! I'm going to download it and try it out myself!
Dawn, thank you for the congratulations but Dan and i didn't get married, he's just calling me his "weekend wife" LOL!
I had a bit of a meltdown this morning, poor Dan. I get so overwhelmed and impatient with where I'm not. sih. I have many, many blessings and will try to count all of them today!

My fall list is needing to happen in short order since I'm due with my baby at the end of October, but this is my list as of today:
1. Get well - I got an icky flu this last week and it's really brought me down, so my first order of business is to recover.
2. Sew a quilt for my new baby - I have all the material and a plan, I just have to sit down and get it done.
3. Finish cleaning the house and get ready for baby - with my two older sons (7 and 4) it seems a constant battle.
4. Contact the local hand spinners group as I would like to take lessons on hand spinning this winter after the baby is born and I'm back on my feet.

I love it gals. You are so energetic when you're young. This is only a 4 month season. Keep making lists and cross things off. You'll feel good.........Better to have a long list than to be like so many really old people with nothing to do or anyone to do it with. Dream, create, love!

Lovely and inspiring to read your lists. Audrey, thank you for the reminder that it is only a few months...that will help me (I hope!)keep my list shorter than it might be otherwise.

1) Sew 3 aprons and bake/freeze the bread for Tie One On Day so I won't be stressed at the last minute.
2) Complete a trash-to-treasure redo of a vintage bench.
3) Put the roses and veggie garden to bed when it is time. Before then, get every last bit of usuable food from it stored up for my family.
4) Sew grocery bag totes for everyody on my Christmas list (http://rosylittlethings.typepad.com/posie_gets_cozy/2009/04/jane-market-bag.html) Stash Busting!
5) Start doing my Pilates and treadmill workouts again and lose another 5# so my winter clothes will fit better!
6) Inventory and re-organize my freezers, rotating older food again.
7) Load a quilt in the frame and get it started already, it's been 2 years since I've quilted a top for heavens sakes!
8) Make and send my Christmas Apron for the swap.
9) Complete more upcycled aprons for a future Etsy shop. (dream, dream)
10) Remember to rest and enjoy Autumn before it slips away!
11) Force myself (hahaha)to read your posts every day and get to know you wonderful Farmgirl Sisters out there.
12) And I forgot, I need to get my quilts and UFO tops out to take digital photos of them all.
Whew!

I would really like to:
- reclaim my house and get it clean and feel that it IS clean
- feel like I am not pulled in a million directions and be able to feel
like I'm RESTED
- work on my Christmas projects
- ENJOY Fall!!!!
- see resolution to a horrendous nightmare situation with family members.

I also want to remember to be grateful for what I have, for my family, for my health and for the things I am able to enjoy!!!

My list is simpler because I don't have responsibilities with children any more and my grandchild is a whole state away.
1.Find pretty color fall leaves to copy on my computer to put on paper and cloth.
2.Make a list (making lists is fun, provided you do something on it that can be crossed off) of things I would like to do and then put them in order of fun and not fun. Sometimes the stuff on your list isn't the stuff that bothers you the most. Pick what bothers you the most and do that first. The rest will seem easier to do. Pick one not so fun thing to do second. Then a fun thing. It's amazing when you alternate and get the ugly stuff (like cleaning the bathroom)out of the way.
3.Get good smells in the kitchen. Bake bread, heat apple cider, use pumpkin and spices. Smells make us happy or sad too.
4.Write at least 2 handwritten letters.
5.Take a drive with my husband to take in nature's beauty.
6.Work on my quilt. My Mary Jane's fabric came today. A perfect thing to work on when the chores are done.
7.Help someone else who needs help, or just listen to someone who needs care.
8. Give thanks for the riches we have: health, food, farm, skills and talents.
9.Get started on the home-made Christmas presents.
10.Remember to rearrange the list I made so I will get some things done. I know I will be frustrated and stressed if I do too much.
11.Plan meals.
