Anybody read Victoria Magazine? I started reading it in the late 90's as a teenager and still have all those copies.
I still buy back issues at thrift stores.
They quit publishing for a while and just started back up last year; I guess I need to subscribe again!
I was sorting through all may magazines today and came across them and started looking through them....... *sigh*. Victoria inspires me.

I too have been enamored with Victoria Magazine and have been a subscriber since the late 80's.
Needless to say I was heart broken when they ceased publication & extatic when they resumed publication.
While it doesn't have the same qualities as the origional magazine had, it is still very delightful to read. I call it my sofa, blankie, cuppa tea & cookies magazine.
I loved the photography of Tosci Otsaki, one of V.M. best photographers(in my opinion). alas Tosci is not with the new version of V.M.
I also noticed that they feature more of a British/Canadian flair then the eariler magazine.
It is still a lovey and well put together magazine. Way more superior than most magazine or should I say
'ad-azines' who have more ad's then articles.
I only have a few favorites that I subscribe to, MJF, V.M., Living the Country Life, Cowboys & Indians and soon to be Horse & Rider...I should get through this Washington Winter very well this year, with my mags, craft room & tea, oh and a stash of my favorite chocolate-chocolate chip cookies....lol!

I love Victoria... Believe it or not, my mom has probably every copy that ever existed back in the day til it was discontinued. I was ecstactic when it came back ! ... if my mom ever chooses to sell the whole collection... well, if I don't get it, I'll let you all know! LOL.

The Roasted Pumpkin Soup is now posted in the kitchen section. I hope its the one you remember. Now all you great cooks can get busy and give reviews.

Just to let you know I posted the Turkey recipe in the kitchen section. I will get the soup one posted in just a little while. Enjoy! I haven't tried the recipes yet, but they look really good.

It has lots of pictures. Yummy! I have the Roasted Pumbking recipe, but the page that it is pictured on is missing. How did that happen? I am so careful with my Victoria magazines. I will post both recipes later today. They are a little lenthy, so it will take a few minutes to get them on here. Oh, my the other recipes look so good too. The pecan rum pie is calling my name..... rather loudly.

I LOVE Victoria too! I did subscribe when it got re-established but I don't like it as much. It seems to have lost it's charm. I have some older issues that I saved and once in awhile go to e-bay and bid on full years :)

I am a victoria addict also. I have almost every copy. I like the old ones best. The new magazines are good, but can't compare with the first ten years or so. Heather are you saying you still need the recipes? If you do I will look for them tonight. Melody, we must be two peas in a pod. I look at my old issues over an over and always find something new. They are my soak in the hot tub reading material of choice. I love MJ too, but the victoria just relaxes me.

I've been subscribing for years and when they stopped I was heartbroken. I re-upped as soon as they began publishing again. I can't part with my old copies either. I've tried too. Just have to save them - they're so inspiring.

Ok I can not believe this, literally just now found a note......my mom sent me a box of stuff from home through a girl friend who came to visit....ok in these notes, it says the recipes I am looking for (it noted the turkey recipe, so that's how I got this info!), is in the November 95 issue! I sure hope I am remembering right about there being a soup recipe in there!
If I remember right the soup had saffron in it!

I lost all my copies when I married and moved! UHG!
Can you look in the fall/winter issues for a recipe for baking Turkey with apple wine.....in that same issue is a recipe for a soup, either squash or sweet potato.
I want both of them, if you could at all pass those recipes to me! They were probably put out in the early 90's.

I do! I'm an addict for the mag. When fall comes my tub full of them comes out and I spent the whole winter going back through them one at a time. I donate my old mags to the local nursing home and one day I took a stack of different one's there and embarrassingly I had to go through the stack and pull out the Victoria and return them home to their tub. Well I tried!! LOL
