I finally made the decision to have my back procedure done! I was very easy and I am so glad that I did it. I was back on my feet the same day but I have to take it easy for awhile. The doctor went into my spine with a fiber optic camera and a laser and removed a bunch of scar tissue and disk that was just hangin around. It was pretty easy on my part. I went to sleep and when I woke up I was in recovery. I am doing really well right now. Been doing alot of lying around. Now back to the topic. After the surgery we went back to our hotel. My DH and I both took a nap and when we woke up I really wanted some Ice cream. So we went out got some and came back to the room and went to sleep. We were suddenly awakened at 2 am to a fire alarm going off in the whole hotel. We grabbed our stuff thinking we could throw it in the truck but when we went out to the parking lot we couldn't find my truck. It was gone!!!!
My Truck was stolen! I had a wonderful Chevy Silverado 3500 Dually loaded. I mean loaded. It had my very expensive camera (why I didn't bring it in the hotel with me, I don't know) in it, my video camera in it, my husbands work camera in it, about 100 CD's in it. It had my wedding and engagement rings in it only because I had to take them off for the surgery and my husband gave them back to me and my fingers were still swollen so I put them in the cubby hole. I could go one with what they got away with. They hit the jackpot with my truck. I am sickened by this. My husband and I both work very hard for our things and then some jerk just pulls up next to my truck and gets in and drives off. We saw the video and it was unbelieveable how fast they did it. The truck was locked. Anyway! Just needed to get that off my chest.

Thank ya'll ! When my husband called after going to see the truck. He said you aren't going to believe this. When he told me the rings were still there, I thought he was lying to me. I just couldn't believe it. I already talked to my homeowners insurance and we are still working on the paperwork.

Jennifer, your story is really tragic. I'm so sorry you had to go through this. You are in my prayers. I have disc problems too and the procedure sounds hopeful. Thanks

I am so glad you had a good outcome.

We just had a guy from TX up here who was here for his Air Force reunion and they stole his car. They found the car and it was horribly spray painted but no major damage - however, they stole all of his WWII memorabilia from his car and nobody knows where it is. They caught 2 teenaged girls but were unable to catch the boy with them.

I'm telling you, the things people do nowadays.

You won't believe this! My truck is fine all but the steering wheel and they broke the door handle lock and my rings where still in the truck. I must have pushed them far back in the cubby and they were in such a hurry they didn't see them. As for my cameras no such luck but they can be replaced. So it ended better than I thought it would.

What an unpleasant shock...to say the least. When we work hard to acquire material goods, they're more than mere things. I hope insurance will help you recover from the loss of so many items...including the truck. And, I hope that your medical treatment will have you feeling better real soon. Perhaps in a couple of months, your life and the details will be in order...with a new truck, s'more good music, cameras, and a replacement wedding ring. If you have your health and each other, you've got the Essentials.

OMG! They actually found my truck. Not sure what is left of it yet. It must have the tires still on it because it was towed to a yard just 15 miles south of Dallas. Don't think my stuff is in it though. Will let you know what I found out tomorrow. The insurance company is going to take pictures and send them to me.

I agree, it is good that you two were not in the truck, it stinks about the rings. Well, maybe you can someday get new rings, i know that will be hard. I had picked out my engagement ring, and because the jeweler didnt give my husband the right size, when the time came that he proposed, my girlfriend helped shove the ring onto my finger. I had to wind up returning it to get another size, so it hurt me to not have the ring he proposed to me in...(they couldnt make it bigger) but It's ok though. Whenever i look down at my ring, i remember how he got down on one knee and proposed, and thats all that matters to me.

No word yet on my truck. These people were pros so I am thinking I probably won't. My truck was equipped with onstar but because I didn't subscribe to it they couldn't track it. As for finding my things. Doubt it. We live about 3 hours from Dallas so as far as local pawn shops I won't be able to check them. The only thing I can't replace is my wedding rings! Ugh! But everything else is replaceable I am just glad we weren't in the truck and someone tried to take it then. My husband and I are okay and we can always get another truck.

What a horrible thing! My husband always says "what comes around goes around, the world is on a wheel". Checking local pawn shops is a fantastic idea for your belongings! Sure makes you wonder what has happened to humanity and treating people kindly!!

Thank you for all the kinds thoughts and words. Connie this surgery was a wonderful thing. The doctor said he was able to remove all my scar tissue and the disc that was just hanging around. I was walking out the door the same day and should be feeling good really soon. You should check it out. The site is www.northamericanspine.com There is only 6 doctors in the world that do this procedure and 4 were in Dallas. They can only do the lower levels in your spine but I already feel better. I have almost no disc left in my lower 2 vertebrae but if nothing is pushing on the nerves than there will be no pain therefore I will be okay. It is very nonevasive and not hardly any downtime like major surgery. Check it out. I am very impressed with this.

I just don't know what is happening in America. I see more and more crimes everyday, and I don't watch the news. I am sorry you or anyone had to go through that. I am glad you and your husband are ok and that your surgery went well.

We need our children to learn the 10 commandments. Everyone should learn them and obey them. People wonder why our schools are so bad they won't let God in what do they expect?
