Linda,

Thanks for sharing with us. I checked out the photos. Sad that you didn't make it to Ruth's, but I'd trade the mountains any day. Colorado is such a beautiful place!

Thank you ladies for helping me find some shops. I went to 3 different ones. Two of them were not there anymore, so that was not fun. I ended up getting to go to the one in Pueblo. The Stitcher's Garden. I was looking specifically for white wool and some other pieces that I needed. I didn't find anything. That is rare for me.
I didn't even try to do Colorado Springs. Time ran out. If I get to go back next year I will be better prepared with all the info. that you all gave me. I did have a wonderful time in the mountains though. My soul is renewed!!!!!!!! I was able to design and sew lots of the time, with the door open to the cabin and the sound of the creek filling my ears!!! Loved it and thank you each one that wrote me and helped. I truly appreciated all the help!!! I will be putting new things up on my blog. Posted a little bit about our trip this morning on my blog also.

Blessings ladies you are all so precious!!!!!!!

Hi, Audrey! I went to a quilt shop in Pueblo once. I don't remember the name of it and last I heard it was closed down. I never shopped much at Ladybug Hill - only went there once and it looks like they've moved from their shop downtown. I had some personal issues with High Country although they used to have an awesome collection of batiks. I second Harriet's Treadle Art. I didn't recommend it because it is so far from Pueblo/Springs.

Not sure about how Heather's shop looks now. The owner is Heather Thomas and she teaches an awesome color theory class and has been in shops all over the state. She does lots of work with embellishments, too.

Have a wonderful time at all the BEST shops!

I like both
High Country Quilts (719) 598-1312 - 4771 N Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO
Ladybug Hill Quilts (719) 593-5949 - 955 E Fillmore St, Colorado Springs, CO
I'm afraid I've never been to a quilt store in Pueblo.

Yes, Great American Quilt Factory Inc is a must see and since you'd be in the Denver area you should also go to Harriet's Treadle Art in Wheat Ridge. This is Harriet Hargrave's store and she was the pioneer of the Heirloom Quilting by machine.

And Jonnie, I never heard of Wild Heather and it's in my neck-o-the-woods! Looks like I'll be going on a field trip soon. Woo Hoo!

Linda,

The quilt shop in Parker (just southeast of Denver and easy to find if you go to Great American) is called High Prairie Quilts. Here is their link: http://www.highprairiequilts.com/

There is also one in Englewood which is near Great American. It's called Wild Heather. Here is their link: http://www.wildheatherdesigns.com/classes.html. I have not actually been to this store, because Heather opened it after I moved to Texas. But, I have taken many classes from her and worked with her at a quilt shop for a while. If you are in the area, it would probably be worth your while to stop. She loves non-traditional fabric and patterns and does some of the most creative embellishment work I've seen.

Again, have a wonderful time in Colorado and enjoy the beautiful weather.

I love quilt stores! I love walking from fabric section to fabric section! Something about the colors is mesmerizing, soothing, and exciting all at the same time!

LInda,

Just realized that I was logged into my sister's account when I sent you that post. ;-) We both use the same computer some times. I posted about Ruth's - have a great time there.

Linda,

Quilt shops in Colorado Springs - Woo HOOOO! The best quilt shop on the planet is Ruth's Stitchery on Austin Bluffs. They do quilting, embroidery, tatting, rug hooking, and smocking! They have awesome teachers and about the best selection of quilt fabrics I have ever seen. They are very friendly and have great teachers there. Like Beth said, I haven't been there for two years, but they also have a web site where you can look them up before hand. Just google Ruth's Stitchery. There is also a great quilt shop in South Denver (I think it's on Hampden) called Great American Quilt Factory. The ladies who do Piece 'o Cake applique' patterns used to own it. I've taken classes there and it's also great. There is another one in Parker that I can't remember the name of just now, but I'll look it up and post it. Need to go for now, but will post later.

I'm so jealous that you're moving to Colorado. It's so beautiful there and the weather is awesome down in Pueblo and Springs. Not too hot in summer and not too snowy in winter.

If you go to Ruth's, please tell Ruth and Anne that Jonnie Nottingham said hey! Have fun shopping there.
