Greetings to All!

The past few days have been quite nice...between gusts of wind that is...so I've been out shoveling the dauntingly, huge pile of composted turkey manure that a local farmer kindly dumped in front of my property late last fall. As a former city girl I never thought I'd be delighted to receive a delivery of that type. But things do change and I know that my garden will benefit from the nutrients. The ground in the kitchen garden thawed a bit a few days ago so I've been wheel-barrowing it to various planting areas and digging it in. Doesn't even look like I've made a dent in that big ole pile!Today, however, I'm taking a break. It snowed last night so I get to spend the day inside.

We had our farmgirl get together Sunday at Libbie's and what a great group of gals! A few I've met previously, a couple more are new friends. We had fun. Good eats and drinks and made a few plans. It looks like we're going to participate in the local farmers' market. Libby and I are going to grow some extra in our gardens for the market and one of the gals is a licensed food tech and is going to bake some wonderful things to have at our booth. A few of the gals are busy with work and kids, and may not be able to participate in the market but we've agreed help each other meet important goals and get together about once a month to touch bases and throw around ideas.

Spring is coming!

Best regards to all,
Gail

Gail & Catherine,

I;m hoping we can get a local chapter going, so would love to hear all about what you folks are doing. It's so exciting. Please keep us informed.

Gail,
It sounds like y'all had a grand time. What fun to gather with other farmgirls. Please share more of the happenings.

Our chapter, Southern Fried Farmgirls, is having its first meeting this Saturday. I hope we have as much fun as y'all did!!

Blessings
Catherine
