I finally got my Cast Iron, claw foots tub home and "planted" in my back yard. My hubby helped me locate it so that he can bring a line from our hot water heater straight to the tub... Sweet. I still need to get the Lattice between the posts and hang all my little out-door pretties... but, I am so excited. The tub will be painted yellow on the outside.... :) Love it

Matthew seems to think it is a new place to NAP

We had one when my folks still lived in Ohio

It came out of their Vistorian house

We used it to hold cold drinks at parties

End of the night just pull the plug and drain!

That tub made a circuit around the neighborhood.

When my folks moved down here, the tub stayed...too heavy to fool with

pity 'cause now when we thorw parties we use a wheelbarrow

fun but not near as classy

We make a difference.

I am in full agreement, Rene! I have one, that I painted PINK no less, smack dab in the middle of my more traditional raised bed garden. I love it, but what I love even more are the comments I'm getting from all my rural neighbors, who think I have completely lost my mind!!!!! I also have a usable one in my bathroom, and there is nothing better than sinking up to your chin in bubbles after a hard day on the farm!!!! Hooray for clawfoots!!!!

I live in an old farm house and still use the original claw foot tub. It even has the shower curtain ring over the top. I also grew up with one of these tubs back in Vermont. They are so great! Love yours outdoors, but I'm afraid the neighbors are too close!!

Okay, so here is a photo request coming up! You in the tub with cowgirl hat and boots on, like the one you had taken and posted on your blog a few weeks ago. Love the tub, and to think it will have running water too! Wow! My hubby would look at me and say What?
