Hubby and I were sitting around wondering about our next project. Since we're getting low on money, we needed something relatively cheap.
So, we're painting the dining room, den and living room walls. Right now, the den and living room walls are stark white. Hubby has already painted the dining room and put the pictures back.
We have a discount card from the Appaloosa Horse Ass'n and so it didn't cost as much. Plus we have a lot of paint left over to do other things as we figger out what we want.
But when we walk into the house, the dining room just looks so 'right', if you know what I'm saying. So much more homier than the white.
So, if nothing else, if you can't move, you can change your walls to look like a different place!!

It would be nice to have color but my DH paints everything white, one year he did change the white to egg shell, which looks white. Some things I don't argue about and the walls are one of them. I bet your place looks really nice.

Green Season in the dining room. It's a little bright but I really like it.
Winter Wheat (or something close to that, I can't find the card) is the post in the center of the house. It's one of those pillars that has 3 sides with decorative windows in it.
Navajo Sand for the opposite ends of the formal living room and den.
Eucalyptus Fern (or close) for the opposite wall from the kitchen/dining nook. The TV/entertainment center are against this color and it looks fabulous!
Then I have Very Violet for our bathroom with Tuscan Green accents.
I don't quite know what color to do our bedroom in...I'm partial to purples and will have to sit down to figger out what to do.
My office is going to be Palomino Gold cuz I want it to rouse me and get/keep me going.
The spare bedroom is I-don't-know-what yet.
The other bathroom, I don't know that one either.
The hall maybe some sort of warm orangey color...we'll see. As long as it goes with the Eucalyptus color and ties in with the Palomino Gold.
The kitchen is alright. Going to put down another rug and change the curtains and that'll be it, I think.

Maybe after reading about your paint re-decorating, I will get motivated. I've been wanting to paint our dining room for a few months. It's one room we haven't touched in this old farmhouse. It has paneling, but removing it anytime in the near future, just isn't going to happen. So, painting it is the best thing. I keep thinking that after the canning is done I will get the time.
I'm happy for you to have fresh new rooms.
Oh, can you tell us what color/colors you are painting?

On a lot of those cable shows about design/decorating, they recommend painting as the quickest, cheapest, biggest bang for your buck way to make a major change. I love painting, too. :)

I love paint... It can change anything....always fun to get a "fresh perspective" from a can of paint.

I should clarify. The App club has a paint manufacturer sponsor who donates money to the club. Then the club/sponsor sends out discount cards to the members so the members support the sponsor...who supports the club.
