Posted - Aug 05 2009 : 12:10:04 PM ......I am (but hoping to convert) a traditional scrapbooker..lol...or scrapper...but, quite honestly, it is SSSOOOO time consuming and MESSY that I've just plain HAD it!!! I have been hearing about all of this "digi scrapping" and told myself that I really should "convert"..lol.
So, naturally i get online and start looking around..OMG!! DIGI SCRAPPING is everywhere!!
Where do I start? Do I have to have a fancy photoshop program? Are all of the "free" kits I'm seeing onlline really free? How do I digi scrap??????...lol
If there are any of you out there that could lead me in the right direction, and tell me where to get started, I would REALLY appriciate it! Thanks, Farmgirl hugs and Smiles, Kelley

Posted - Aug 07 2009 : 07:25:55 AM oh, Cheryl, that sounds really easy..I'll have to check it out...
I have been wondering...can I just download Photoshop, or do I need to purchase it? I see stuff on the internet stating both options...

Posted - Aug 06 2009 : 02:52:45 AM I've used ArcSoft Print Creations and made my mom a scrapbook mother's day card. She loved it! I'm able to upload images from my camera onto my computer and import them into ArcSoft. They have a nice selection of free digi pages you can use or buy sets if you want. I know I didn't buy this so thinking it maybe came with our printer we purchased several months ago. Here is their online site addy if you're interested. They do have a trial of it available so you can try before you buy. http://www.arcsoft.com/estore/download_trials.asp I just print whatever I create off from my printer and assemble. Fun, easy and not the least bit messy. Enjoy!

Posted - Aug 05 2009 : 9:30:58 PM I've never learned much about digital scrapbooking, but I'm always game to learn new things :) I wonder of any of those programs will work on a Mac?

Posted - Aug 05 2009 : 8:58:14 PM Hey Sue,
I use Digital Image Pro too!! It's an older program but I love it. I have Photoshop 7 and really only do certain things in it..I love the digital world of artful scrapping.
Anyhow, I just had to post since I'm a total digital junkie!

Posted - Aug 05 2009 : 6:42:35 PM Kelley, there's nothing wrong with trying new things and "going digi"...like I said, it makes it easier for me to get to the scrapbooking amidst all the other stuff I AM doing the "old-fashioned way" (try scrapping with hot, full canning jars on the only table in the place). I would rather do some digital scrapbooking and journal what's going on than have my kids go through boxes of unlabeld and unjournaled memories when I'm dead and gone.
I am going to email you with some details. Kelly

Posted - Aug 05 2009 : 3:35:28 PM Kelly - your program sounds great, where did you get it? My mother just bought a really GREAT kodak printer that I'm already in love with!! It prints like a professional! I think I'm gonna Google Creative memories..lol

Posted - Aug 05 2009 : 1:51:55 PM Hi Kelley, I invested in the Creative Memories digi scrapbooking program. I like it because it helps me organize my pics, and then I have them right on the computer to put onto my pages...I don't have to get pics printed, then cropped, then pasted onto my pages. Instead, I digi crop, arrange, etc, then take it to Costco and get the whole page printed. I have friends that use the online printing services, but since I have dial-up, it takes too long for me to upload, so Costco is easier. I am doing more scrapping again since I don't have to take up the entire dining room to get it done!
