Hey guys, so I know I have been absent for eons...which seems to be happening alot lately. I wanted to check in and say hi to the farmgirls, new and old friends.

A li'l update on me. Still haven't found a steady job, but somehow all the farming background seems to be catching up. After 3 generations of beekeeping (my grandfather was one), the crazy city that I live in actually asked me to help with its beehives. My landlady purchased 3 and I'm caring for them on our rooftop, as well as advising others!

I am also working with an urban farm at the moment, not sure if that will pan out into a job. So, lots of farming in the city! Who knew.
I am also still taking care of animals..and figuring out what to do with the BigTownFarmer magazine. Right now, it's morphing into something bigger and better, I hope.

There is also a documentary in the works....think old style horse drawn wagons in the modern world. More soon!

Hi Kay and Nancy JO! Haha, Nancy Jo--I actually don't drink coffee...but it doesn't mean I can keep up with all these projects either--DOH! :)

Kay!!!! Yikes, I am so sorry to hear about your job situation and you will be in my prayers--I am sure we both know how worry-some these times can be, but I have a feeling it will smooth itself out.

Thanks Diane--yes, my BF is allergic also, so he is constantly giving me this worried look! Nice to meet you--you are probably not far from me in NY? :)

Zan - so glad to hear from you again! You've been busy as always. How wonderful that you are beekeeping. That is something I would love to do some day. I can relate to the unemployment situation. I've been off work for 15 months and only have 3 months of unemployment left. I'm going to school for medical office and will be done in 2 weeks. However, the job leads there aren't very promising either. Every place I see an ad wants someone with at least 1 year of medical office experience. I will be thinking good thoughts for you and hope you find a job soon.

Heyyyy Linder!! Wow, long time no talking to you!! I know, life is busy! Well, I'm still a bit frayed at the nerves with the unemployment situation, but it's not completely crazy, and there seem to be interesting things going on all the time :)

How are you?

And nice to meet you Sharlet (I love that name!) and good to see you too Karin!!! Hugs!!

Hello Zan,

I follow your blog(s) So I'm not totally in the dark..hahaha Glad to see you post!

Good for you! There is a mission for your farm *mind* right there in your city..that's wonderful.

You know Hobby Farms is coming out with a new magazine later this month?? It's called Urban Farm...yep, they are realizing the movement of self reliance is even in the city. Here's the link if you want to take a peek.
