Hello my faithful farmgirl friends, I am in need of your help. If anyone has any ideas on ways to boost PTA membership in an elementary school, please post. My theme is Pardner' up with the PTA. So any advice will be so helpful. Even fundraising ideas or school spirit items that have been a hit at your school. Thanks a bunch!
Kelly

Thanks for the ideas. I'm sending the ideas to our President. Can you tell me what Market Day is? What frozen pizza brand do you sell?
thanks
Mary

We have lots of people join the PTO - they just don't come to the meetings. :o( Our PTO charges $10.00 for membership - you get a school calendar and a directory (of all the kids/teachers in the school.) There is even a spot on the form if you want to donate additional $$ for yearly activities. (Oh, we do yearbooks too - grade school).

Some of the fundraisers are:
Eat for art - eat at a designated restaurant on the specific day and 15% of the sale goes back to the school.

Box tops & Tyson labels - they get $ for free items.

Pizza to go - they sell frozen pizzas (preorder)

Original Artwork - our art teacher coordinates the art in class which is then turned into a magnet. You get the option of buying the magnet and even having the art turned into something else. I bought a soap dispenser last year & a night light.

Target - they donate 1% from the Target Visa or Target guest card purchases. (easy way for people to help the school)

Used book sale. (Another school in our district does a consignment clothing sale and another does a consignment toy sale - huge money makers).

Wrapping paper - my least favorite.

Market Day - brings in the bulk of the $$ for our PTO.

There are some other small fundraisers - like cell phone/ink cartridge but it doesn't bring in much money.

Hope this helps some.
