I love it!! I love being able to find things quickly and knowing I just have what I need and can pass other things along. I spent the morning organizing the stuff in the garage. Unfortunately, hubby is a bit of a disorganized person, so I have to help him out. People think I am crazy, wasting time organizing but I look at 2 hours spent organizing saves me hours later on and I am not tripping over things nor being wasteful. I can't believe I was able to fill the back of the truck AGAIN to donate stuff. Unbelievable!!!

No one that I know is organized. They come into my home and say...You're SOOOOO organized...like it's a disease or something. I always grew up with "A place for everything and everything in it's place." Sorry, but it looks better and it feels better to me to be like that.
I always wanted to start a businees organizing spaces for people. But after you leave, how long does it take until they are disorganized again? It's a condition of the heart, just like being a farmgirl.....

hey there! i worked at a bank years ago....and to this day, when i count $$ (and put it in my wallet), it's "chins to the right!" ha,ha! sounds like we could start a compulsive disorder group....:) but i still go back to l. we can find anything and everything, even in the dark, in minutes! you can't beat that!

I am organized to the point of being obsessive. My car has to be completely clean and the trunk and glove box neat and organized. I color-coded our files (yellow for cars, red for credit cards, blue for medical records, etc.) I clean out and reorganize my purse everyday, and people at work make fun of me for my neat desk. I'm an administrative assistant, though, so my obsession with organization pays off in my career! (At least I'm not as bad as my dad - he separates his quarters by state, date they were admitted to the Union, and all the heads have to be facing to the right!)

Well, I feel really out of place after reading the postings! I am so NOT organized. I have five other sisters who are all very organized. Not me!!!!!!! Now my hubby is super organized to the point that it drives me up the wall. I eventually find things I'm looking for. No organization skills here.
But, I'm a good listener!

oh Sue thats so funny---

I like to stay organized...in other words decluttered. I really like to stay on top of that as in the states the home we have is small for 4 people. And as I get older I realize I can not stand clutter....I can not even think straight in it---I really can not. I am much happier with less.. I really am........when you really really think about it----do we need all these clothes? If someone really wants to save as far as $$$....there are so many tricks to buying basics and then just alternating them....saves $$$ saves space. But you can still look great because you can wear so many different combinations.

Oh sorry to go off like that....guess I am a fanatic to decluttering.

Beverly P.S. If anyone wants any help as far as compulsive hoarding e-mail me----I got some CEUs for my nursing license in this area...not that I am an expert but the study I took was very enlightening.

i like to be organized too....it gives me such a calming affect! my husband's family THINKS they are organized, but they just kind of toss things in an appropriate area! but i have to tell you....several years ago i thought that i'd "help" hubby and organize his tools, etc., so...i took all of his tools and layed them out in the driveway intending to organize and put them away...then i thought, i'll clean them, he'll be so grateful.....well, don't wash tools with dish soap and then hose them down and just let them dry.....They RUST!!

OH i love to! It drives me up the wall when i cant find something! If i organize everything i always know where everything is... Except for that saying..."I'll put it here so i wont forget where i put it.. then later on forget where you put it!"

Sounds good Heather! We don't have too much stuff, but I am sure there would be things to get rid of! :D

I love it myself. And I'll do it, just as soon as I can find my mind -- to wrap it around all that clutter. Either that, or the trash can!

Alee, I would love to come help you out. I am pretty tough though on clutter and getting rid of things. : )

Michele, it does make me wonder about the Virgo thing. I can't function either in clutter. We just FINALLY unpacked the last box and I swear I haven't been sleeping because of the mess in the house.

Is being organized a "Virgo" thing? If so, then that explains ALOT, since I am one. Yes, the closet is color and like coordinated and if the house is disorganized then my brain is too. I function best when order surrounds me. Way to go to the rest of the organized women out there!

Seriously, my clothes are style or color coordinated and all my shoes must point out forward. I am a VIRGO and grew up with very little, so I take very good care of what I do have. It drives me nuts to walk into a house and see things just neglected.

I love it too, Heather!
I have a twin brother and I swear I was organizing things for us in the womb! People think I'm "anal retentive" but I love it that everything is where I need it, when I need it!
