To go along with my getting out of debt thread. I have been really trying to focus on the positive and trying to recall some positive people or stories in my life. So here is a little diddy for ya'll...

My cousin Lisa, she was a single mom at 22 and finally ended up marrying the dad of her child. BIG mistake but stayed with him until her son was 18 and could move on his own. He was a deadbeat dad, always hopping from job to job, digging them deeper in debt and basically, not a father at all. When her son graduated high school, she signed the divorce papers. She had been paying down their debt with a small inheritance that she recieved and the husband was pretty much out of the picture for the past 2 years. She sold their home, taking her half and completely paying off her debt. She moved into a cute little 2 bedroom townhouse and started her life down a new path. This was bout 5 years ago. She is so happy and content. She has just what she needs and for the first time in her life, has a savings/retirement account. I went shopping with her to get her "basics" and she needed so little to be so happy. She was really excited not to have the maintenance of the home anymore and she has a nice townhouse in a gated, upscale community that she is paying off to own. She has the perfect spot, just next to the gardens and off the community pool but she says it is really quiet. Never did she think this is where she would end up, but she did and she accepted her life for what it is, not what is was or based on old dreams and goals. She is very inspirational to me because we are very similiar in a lot of aspects of our life.

Heather, I love happy endings. Her life would make a good movie. Sounds like she has earned all the happiness she can grab on to.
