Well I finally made my own! with a little help from my DH...
I just love 'em. I didn't put seed in as we have "herds" of squirrels in town and I did not want to give them free reign, but I am keeping water in the cups for the birds or squirrels as it is so blasted dry here and every little creature is frantic for water.
Aren't they sweet? Tea anyone??

Debbie...that is an awesome idea....maybe using clear epoxy?? I am going to have to think about that!
I have done a few sea glass table tops (coffee tables) and used a clear epoxy over that and it looks like the glass that is under very clean and cool water. I sold a rather large one a few years ago at one of my rummage sales. I had put it out the year before and it didn't sell... too heavy, asking too much and thought I would try again. I think the epoxy alone was something like $35.00. But this lady....my goodness she drove by 3 or 4 times during the day and finally stopped in. She had seen it at the rummage sale the year before! She didn't have the $75.00 I was asking but really wanted this table. So I sold it to her for just enough to cover my cost of epoxy and this table had an oak base! (an old kitchen table cut down to coffee table height.... On the way to the car with Bruce lugging it, she said I could come and visit it any time! Funny huh? She told me when she would drive by the house after the rummage sale the year before and say to herself "I should have bought that coffee table!!"

What an oasis you are making for yourself. I'm getting inspired to make a teapot that looks like it is pouring into a teacup and saucer set/ Think this can be done? I'd love to see more of your yard.

Michele...That's so cute...Blooming Teacups! I like doing stuff that is so unique. I have yet to see one Blooming Teacup locally. I hope mine stay put!

LOL. I don't have copper pipes at home but DO have something else I can use NOW ( I want them NOW and not next week, lol) SO I am in the process of making one as well. I have glued the pipe to the saucer, waiting for it to dry ( no super glue either duh) and tomorrow will glue on the cup and post a pic here, lol. IF it all takes that is. Will have to wait. BUT will go to the super cheap store and buy their super glue asap. AND maybe some copper pipe, just in case ;)

Love, love,love them. I have been thinking about making some but thought I would have to drill through the saucers (DUH) so glad to hear of the super glue idea. Now my garden will be blooming in teacups.

I know exactly where you are! Interlochen really is beautful...such a great experience. If you can ever get there, they have concerts all year round but especially in the summer. Great outdoor ampitheater!

Dutchy....those are copper pipes and with that size you buy the right size copper "cap" super glue it to the saucer (on the bottom of the saucer)then super glue the cup to the saucer then slip it over the pipe. Oh....flatten one end of the pipe before you do this so it goes into the ground easier. Ta Dah!!
Half the fun is looking for a cute cup and saucer set or go wild and funky mix or match!

Adorable! I really love the whole thing, and understand what you mean about the squirrels. We actually had to quit feeding for a time because they were fighting the birds off. I HATE that...and I would never hurt them, but I'm glad they've moved on!

Very cute! Think I need to hit the thrift shops in town and see what kind of tea cups/saucers I can find. I have a raised bed too and I just love it. So easy to keep it free of weeds.

What a pretty yard you have love the cups and saucers and the gardens. One of my loves is picket fences. Oh what a lovely place you have. Here we have had so much rain I am sick to death of it! You guys are all dry? It never evens out like it should does it? Always dry as a bone one place and soaking wet all the time another!

Alee...just some china I have stored in boxes in the basement. Although, I think I am going to start looking at rummage sales or Goodwill for unique cup and saucer sets....I think they would sell at our local farmers market here or gosh...even a good Christmas gift for someone who gardens. Not your typical "garden" art. And you can remove the cup and saucer as it is attached to a copper cap on the copper pipe when you want to store it in the winter time.
I'd love to be a little bird taking a sip from antique china!

That looks so good! :D Everything around here is desperate for water too. I looked out to find a whole flock of crows taking a bath in my garden sprinkler the other day! I like your solution much better! Did you sacrifice tea cups you already had, or did you buy some with that purpose in mind?

Yep...raised beds! Have too. The soil here is very sandy as we are only 2 blocks from the Bay of Green Bay in the UP of Michigan.
I have four beds; 1 for herbs, 1 for strawberries and 2 for vegetables on the side of our house. Next year I am planning 2 more and I have a picket fenced in---- Lavender Garden with 15 lavender plants and 2 ferocious Tomato plants....
That is the only green grass in my entire yard. The water is saved for the beds and my little patch of green under the plum tree.
