Posted - Jul 02 2009 : 1:40:50 PM Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!!
I'm headed up to my mom and dad's for the next couple days. Dad and I are building a chicken coop for me. Can't wait to get chickens. And my mother and I are planning to watch the secret life of bees while I work on my new Bee apron. We're making homemade ice cream with my antique hand crank ice cream maker. Mom made a rhubarb pie for my birthday (at my request) and dad is cooking roast chuck wagon style in a cast iron dutch oven over the campfire in their back yard. I've been looking forward to this for weeks!!
Some people would think I was off my rocker getting excited over doing such simple things, but I know all you girls understand. Hope everyone else's weekend is as peaceful and enjoyable!

Posted - Jul 02 2009 : 1:57:38 PM Sounds wonderful to me, too! I can taste that ice cream already! I'm heading down to Miss Wilma's tomorrow, to run around the farm and show my sweet baby girl, Violet the cows and dogs. Can't wait for a nice drive to clear my head, and good friends to warm my heart!
