I got a call from Cody today and he had just been to the post office where he received wonderful correspondence from some of you - he was so humbled by all of the outpouring from you. He said I "hang out" with a bunch of really great women. I agreed!
Today he picked up a postcard from Corrine - with mountains (Italian?) on it he said. Made him more anxious to get completely well to go climbing again.
He also said he got a nice surprise from LynnMarie and wanted me to send along his gratitude.
He is healing very well now, after a slow start and really showing me how resilient he is. He really is amazed at all the farmgirl support. In fact he said this morning, "Maybe I'll have to go to one of those events with you sometime." Made me laugh - but that shows me he appreciates how great you have all been to help him through his recovery. Thanks again from both of us! It has made all the difference in the world.

Thanks JOnni - sadly, it seems much more common to kidnap children than steal a beloved pet. Hard to imagine what leads an individual to do that.

Sherri, I'm so sorry! I knew about Cody's accident and subsequent medical follow ups, but I somehow missed the dog part. Cody must be just beside himself.

I'm sorry, too about the little girl missing. Sure does hit close to home with having little Vi, now. Devastating for her family. And frightening for the community.

The little girl's name is Lindsey - she is 10 years old.

Sherri, I am so glad the mail made a difference for Cody. We went to Italy for a week-end a few weeks back and I saw a roe buck on top of a mountain... couldn't resist to say to Cody that one day soon, he will be on top of the world himself and in good shape.
It is great that he wants to hang out with you at a Farm event and meet the farmgirls, good for both of you.
What is the first name of the little girl ? I find it easier to pray for some one when I know their name.

Oh, no, that's even worse. I'm sad to hear that too. :( You can't let your kids out of your sight these days, much less a pet. :( (or is that vice versa... but you know what I mean.)

It's pretty hard to believe for sure, but I'm getting a reality check with the little girl missing in the next town for 5 days now. As much as stealing a beloved pet is despicable, snatching a little 10 year old girl is a real tragedy.

How could someone do that? Wow. What goes around, comes around to those people!

I talked to his girlfriend today and she said she has a friend that is very big in the mushing and sled dog community. She has sent flyers out to all of her fellow mushers so if the the people who stole the dog try to sell it as a sled dog, hopefully someone will recognize that the dog is stolen. She also sent flyers to all of the animal rescues in Wyoming and Colorado. Kiska had a tag with all her info on, but I imagine that's the first thing they did - remove her tag.
