We all have special things that cheer us up. What is it that can cheer you up out of the saddest, most foulest of moods??

My grandchildren hands down, then a hot cuppa tea, sit on the porch and listen to the birds and the wind in the trees.

Usually my children do the job, but sometimes it takes a walk outside or getting something done I've been wanting to do helps too!!

My grandsons, no matter what, they will have me smiling. When my husband died 2 years ago, There were days that I did'nt think I could go on, one of those I was sitting out on a bump crying, and my then 4 year old grandson came out with a big glass of water and said " you have to drink all of this, so you don't dry out and blow away", I'm always saying that , cause the little ones don't stop and think about dehydration in the heat, so i realized at that moment, my preaching had been heard, and all I could do was laugh and hug him.

I listen to music from the 50s & 60s or inspirational/gospel music. Music almost always lifts me up.

Anytime I am in front of my spinning wheel or hands in fiber. I think the quickest way for me is to be near my animals. Even if I am crying my eyes out they bring me such joy that all else just slips away. They are my reason to get up and breathe everyday. My Great Pry's are my soul and so without them I would not be...

My wonderful dogs. I have 6. And no matter what my day has been like, they are always thrilled to see me when I get home and they will push each other out of the way to get to me so I can pet them. I love to watch them play with each other and the way they wait for me to get through the fence on the way down to the garden before they jump through. There's nothing in the world like the unconditional love of a good dog.

The chief source of failure and unhapiness is trading what you want the most for what you want at the moment.

When I'm feeling REALLY low, I go to a farm market by my house and feed the goats they have there. For like 50 cents you get an ice cream cone full of corn. I'll by a couple of those and feed them - bit by bit - to the goats and sheep. It makes me feel very important and popular, to have 25 sheep and goats clamoring over each other to get to me. Never fails to cheer me up.

Also, there is a big, fat, groundhog that lives with a river rat in a culvert down the road. Seeing them always makes me happy, too.

Gosh, I have many, but this week they're working overtime with my mood! Violet Mae, our little one...she's laughing up a storm and that always makes me laugh, too. My pets...and cleaning. It's a great stress reliever for me. Also going for a drive--clears my head of all the muddled thoughts and worries.

Looking at the sky always cheers me up. Whether it's during the day and there are big, puffy clouds floating across an impossibly blue sky, or at night while all the stars seem just out of reach!

My cat. Not that he does anything to comfort me, but just seeing him curled up asleep without a care in the world always makes me feel better. I'm not sure what it is...must be something about the plushness.

A neck/shoulder rub. My 16 yr old son is REALLY good at giving them, he'll make some girl very happy some day...
My dear hubby stinks at giving rubs. Too hard, too abrupt, but I'll usually take it. Anything to relieve pressure buildup!
