He is starting to get out a bit and a friend took him on his new boat this weekend. Cody has a Siberian Husky which he's had since she was a pup. They left her tied up at the car at their campsite, which they could see from the boat on the lake and they saw some people talking to Kiska, and those people stole her. Cody and his friend started for shore when they saw the people talking to her, and by the time they got to shore, they had all disappeared. She has a collar with her name, Cody's address and phone number and all, but this was yesterday and no one has called. They have the park service looking for her, as well as the pound in the area, but no luck. This is in Jackson Lake in Grand Teton park, so those people who took her could be from anywhere. If they let her go, Kiska will head home, but it's quite a ways from Jackson Lake to Jackson, the town. Please pray that Kiska escapes and finds her way home to her brokenhearted owner. Thanks again everyone.

Sounds like a great suggestion Beth - I have passed it on to Cody. Thanks Oney - I know white Subaru Foresters abound in that area, but Kiska is pretty unique.

My daughter runs a rescue and she says to contact the rescues and the shelters in Colorado and send a photo. Also contact the Colorado Highway patrol. You can get the addresses off the internet and send a photo. She got her Great Dane back. We live in Houston and the Dane was in Galveston. It had been picked up and taken across to the Island someway. But she got it back. Buster obviously got away from the people who took him and the Galveston County Constables found him begging for food at an Elementary School. The kids were loving it. They took him to the local rescue and she had faxed them a photo. He was gone for 4 days. There is always hope.

Here's a couple of pics of the dog - a current one taken about a month ago and one from last summer where you can see her body and color a little better.

If someone would be willing to help me post these on youtube, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm so sorry this has happened. Tell him to post pictures of her on u tube. STOLEN DOG headline. It doesn't need to be a video. A slideshow with pics of her will work too I think. So many people look at u tube these days maybe that will help get her back also. Good luck!

Try to get a local TV station to run the story, if they do, it usually will be picked up on the wire and end up going national, and when that happens it will also end up on the internet. And then Colorado TV stations will pick it up and run it locally there.

Oh this is just too much! It is too much for Cody! It is too much for his beloved dog. AND it is too much for the bone-head who took the dog. The poor things are going to suffer such bad karma I can't stand it! I just hope the dog is back with Cody before the bad karma comes a knocking...and it will.

Here's to Cody and his beautiful friend. Here's to their safe and joyous reunion. Holding you all in my light and warm wishes! ~julia

One thing we have going for us is a nationwide network of farmgirls, praying and watching for Kiska. While you travel this summer, please be aware at rest stops, gas stations etc.

Remember to look for:

A white Subaru with Colorado plates - "hippy-looking driver", red and white Siberian Husky with ice blue eyes and a slightly crooked tail. She would probably respond to her name.

Thanks again everyone.

Oh Sherri, that is just horrible!! I've had two dogs stolen from my home and I can completely sympathize. I still have a huge, gaping hole in my heart for both of them. I miss them so much. I hope Cody can find Kiska. Praying that whoever took her will listen to their conscience and bring her back.

I think Cody should call the sheriff and the Highway patrol. They might be able to keep their eyes out. You never know- a trooper might see a white Subaru at a gas station with her in the back or something...

That's terrible. What kind of person would steal someone else's pet? I hope he get's her back.

I think advertising the loss is a good idea. Maybe he could post something in the pets section of craigslist for major Colorado cities? Or get in touch with a rescue organization or humane society in Colorado?

My thoughts are for you all.

Colorado to Jackson WY is quite a ways, but I told him to have faith and never stop looking for her. Thank goodness he made a report so if he does run into her someday, he could prove she was stolen.

My dh just talked to Cody again - and he said they saw the people and the vehicle that took the dog - and reported it to the park rangers. It was a couple of "hippie-looking people" driving a white Subaru with Colorado plates - so please all you Colorado farmgirls, please keep a look out for Kiska - she is a red and white Siberian Husky, with pale blue eyes - they are quite striking - and she has a kink in her tail. If you see her please let the authorities know she was reported stolen in Teton Nat'l Park. Thank you.
