hope you all have a fun valentine's day .. and romantic too! what's everyone got planned to celebrate?

we had our big celebration this past weekend at Rough River State Park Lodge. They did a valentine's weekend. We had a scrumptious dinner (this is the place where we waited in line for 4 and a half hours!!!! for the 'wild game dinner' .. and it was sooooooo worth the wait!) Then we all went to a big 'party room' and played games .. that was fun! Then they had a dance t'il midnight! Breakfast the next morning was included too ... again ... YUMMY! Next year, they are going to extend the party to two nights!

Tonight, our Rotary Club .. which is such a great group of people here in our little Green County is having their Valentine Dinner .. again .. more southern cooking! so .. honey hunk and i are going to join with a buncha' friends for that!

Hope you all have a wonderful valentine's day with those you love .. and remember .. this includes YOU!

post and tell us what ya'll are doing today!

Just wanted to update - my honey was home when I got off of work waiting. He wanted me to be there when he opened his card and cookies I left him this morning. I got the most beautiful flowers - lilies with many small red roses and a big red bow, with a wonderful kittie card that said "Happy Valentine's Day to the one I will love my whole life - times nine" and of course a giant red heart of candy. Even though I get a variation of this every year, it is always a nice surprise to come home to. Also got a big kiss before he had to leave for his meeting. So dinner is not Thai, but leftover nachos and still Gilmore Girls on TV.

Happy Valentine's Day to my Farmgirl Sisters!! Hope you're having a great day!

Mine is just a little old fashioned garden where the flowers come together to praise the Lord, and teach all who look upon them to do likewise.

We'll have a steak & saland dinner at home and a nice relaxing evening together. Perhaps a glass of red wine. Don't know what I got yet; we'll do that after dinner.

I'm sending my love and friendship out to all of you today. I've been feelin a little sad and blue this week, but decided to snap out of it and be happy!!!! Have a great day.

Everyone sounds like they've had a great day. Happy Valentine's Day to all y'all!

I woke up to Hershey's kisses placed all over our home. I ate 2 or three as I found them and then realized something was taped to the bottom of one....it was a sweet note. I had to go back to the garbage can to find the first wrappers and, yep, they had little slips of paper taped to them, too. I've been eating kisses all day and blushing from all the sweet things my hubby wrote. He earned major points with this!! So, tonight, I'm gonna cook his favorite meal of mine that I make....Jambalaya. And some homemade banana puddin', too.

Blessings
Catherine

Jan .. sounds like a fun day .. DANGLE THOSE EARRINGS HONEY CHILE! DAZZLE HIM!

Brenda .. actually your first valentine 'meal' sound kinda' fun .. would be great fun to 'reproduce' it for him for dinner tonight!

Jenny .. save some of those cupcakes for a romantic midnight snack .. get a bottle of wine (or mona's milk!) .. do cows still give milk when pregnant .. and afterwards .. can you milk them .. or does the baby 'cow-ling' need it all? And oh how fun if mona would have that calf today .. Valentine .. Valentino?

Ashley .. that is sooooooooo romantic and so very dear to remember your daughter with a pink rose .. sounds like a nice 'tradition' starting!

Jan .. hope you have a sweeeeeeeeeet day today too! Valentine Hugs!

Patricia .. thanks for the sweet thoughts .. and oh my yes! SEWING .. hope some of you girls are making dollies today!

Sue .. that is so sweet of your honey hunk! And sharing this day with our chilluns and grands .. now how GRANDER could a day be!

Anne .. your day sounds sweet .. do that saran wrap thingie i mentioned above when he gets home! My first husband was born on valentine's day .. as was his second wife i really don't like the "ex-title" (i refer to her as my 'wife-in-law'!) AND .. they were married on valentine's day .. so this is a biggie for them!

what the rest of ya'll up to today?

My honey has a meeting tonight, so it will be me and some take out Thai food watching Gilmore Girls. That's okay. I left him heart shaped cookies with messages on them and a card early this morning. I am sure there will be flowers and candy on the dining table when I get home from work that is my honey's usual. Tomorrow we are going out for dinner, but not for V-Day, it is for DH's B-day.

When I went to make the bed this morning after hubby left for work, I was scared, there hidden under the covers sat a fuzzy brown bear with a note tucked inside and a box of chocolates! He's still got it! And he better, today is the day he proposed to me 14 yrs. ago! We will go to town for dinner tonight and deliver homemade valentines to the kids and grandbabies, goodies too, can't have enough chocolate today! Happy day of love to all my farmgirl friends!!

Amazingly my usually unromantic husband sent me a dozen red roses and one pink one for our 8 month old daugther who comes to work with me (I'm a church secretary).

I think he's looking for brownie points, he got them!

I am meeting my husband in a little while in the next town..not for lunch..but to finally put in the order for the formica for my kitchen counter top. He did get me a beautiful mushy card and a plant starting thing (the type with 72 holes and peat pots and a plastic clear cover) and a pack of plant i.d. stakes and some of my favorite chocolates (Lindor balls)
We won't be doing anything special that I know of. I made a double batch of pink cupcakes this morning and just finished frosting them. I am room mom in Travis' class (4th grade) this year so I will be there for the class party. The kids will be all "sugared up" tonight..oh boy!
My favorite Valentines thing would be if Mona would have that calf today!!! (before dark preferably)
I hope you all have a wonderful romantic day!!

Ha! That is romantic! When we were still dating my husband took me to the Ford Tractor garage open house for cold meat sandwiches, Kool-Aid, and cookies for our dinner-out on Valentine's day! I married him anyway...

I'm at the library right now for my daily check in on the computer and then right from here in the next 15min., I'm driving to Stephen's Point to meet my sweetie for lunch and have an afternoon together. Stephen's Point is a 2hr drive north for me from Germantown and a 1 1/2 hr drive south for Jim from Spirit. That way one person doesn't get stuck with paying for all the gas one way. I've got my dangly red heart earrings on, so I'm all set. Oh by the way, he informed me on the phone this morning that we do have to stop at Fleet Farm to pick up oil for his tractor. Oh, the romance never stops!!!

That sounds like a lot of fun Frannie. DH will probably work and oldest DD is home from school today sick so I imagine my Valentine's Day will be just like any other day . I was really hoping to go to the local seafood place and have shrimp, chicken, and homemade bread with roasted garlic but looks like that will have to wait.
