Ok, did anyone else see our president smack the poor little fly and kill it? I was flippimg channels the other night and saw the little clip about him killing the fly and they showed it dead laying on the carpet and how PETA or some such group is all over him for doing that. Palease! That is so silly, really. I thought he did great to ba able to kill it barehanded like that. Good job, Obama! It's just a pesky little fly. My dog even kills them. Will they jump all over him if they found that out? The poor dog can't stand it if there is a fly buzzing around him, even in the house. He has to get up and chase the thing down. I am the same way. I can't sit still if I know there is one little fly buzzing around my house. And there is always one somewhere in here at all times. It just absolutely drives me crazy.

So this is not about our president at all. I am on his side on this one. I'd go to Wash. myself and protest if it came down to that. It's about the pesky little aggravating fly. And the media and little groups that try to stir things up that make no sense at all. I just really wanted to know if anyone else saw that on the news this week.

Kris, in my fly-free (right now at the moment because I've killed them all) house in Ga.

Well, I guess PETA will be at my back door next. Last night I had a mosquito in my room, and two huge whelps later, that sucker is history. I'm with all of you. I really think PETA had a good premise in the beginning, but all they're doing now is making a laughing stock of themselves. Now, if Obama can swat terrorists and threats to our country -- and the government for making it so hard on small farmers, I say Swat Away, Darlin'!!!!!

I hate them and there is nothing worse than trying to work outside and they insist on buzzing right by your head!!! Sorry but no mercy in this house for them!

If ya'll think a cat trying to catch a fly is funny, you should see my poor Bubba. He's so allergic to heat he begs to come in. Or maybe it's the flies buzzing. But there will be that one pesky fly in the house and he's up chasing that thing til he corners it at the door and eats it. Then back to sleep he goes.

My family thinks I'm crazy when we sit down to eat and I have to get up every few seconds to kill a fly. But I cannot rest til it's gone.

Is it not the best to watch a cat try to catch a fly!?! I love their little ears and heads going back and forth...the cats,,,not the flies!!! ; )

I have literally broken things in my house going after flies, and so have the cats. I may live on a ranch/farm, but I do not live in a barn, and when a fly gets in, "IT"S WAR" !!!

PETA, as an idea, sounds good. They're so radical and ridiculous, though, that I can never take them seriously. Any fly or mosquito near me is history...can't stand them. A buzzing mosquito near my ear when sleeping is a huge annoyance! It just shows you how cool and smooth Obama is...one swift move and the fly is done. :)

Hey, he impressed the heck out of me! Can you just imagine this world if PETA had their way? Geez, Louise!

I'm with Heather on this one. However, if that fly would have landed on me, I would have swatted the crap out of it.

I won't repeat what Tom said when I told him about Peta complaining about Obama killing the fly -- What I thot was so funny, was how the president sat and waited for that fly to be in just the right spot so he could smack it!! Ha!!

That's right, Betty. They do have lots of eyes. That's why it's so amazing he could do that at all.

I know, Jonni. Pretty impressive. How many people can do that anyway?

Me too, Heather.

With all the eyes that flies have, it should have seen it coming!!!! Good for Mr. Obama.

Kristin, I am devout Republican and think it is SILLY that PETA is after him. More important things to worry about, IMHO.
