Posted - Jun 11 2009 : 12:43:07 PM Gasp! GASP! It took everything I had.... every ounce of energy.... but..gasp!...gasp!....I made it back. The enemies (other forums) are in hot pursuit of new meat in which, I'm completely sure, they intend to disect entirely and eat raw.......(heavy breathing, bending over, panting....) but....I escaped, barely....and made it "home". My findings.....pant! pant!...are that... other forums are volatile environments in which....gasp....they delight in being snide and rude...... so.......if you find yourself....gasp....in another forum....I beg you! RETREAT! RETREAT!

Posted - Jun 13 2009 : 10:53:54 AM I forgot to mention, I tried a Herb chat one time. Got out of there quick, all they talked about was herbs that you smoke. |

Posted - Jun 13 2009 : 10:52:02 AM I was in a garden chat room back in the mid 90's. Made wonderful friends and went to several meets. Some of us are still close friends. Then in 99 is was in a Y2K chat room. Made some friends. We no longer communicate. Had not participated in a forum until I found MJ. I feel at home here and don't plan to wander. I love it that there are different topics. If I want to talk about garden, cooking, sewing, health, weather, I can go there. If there is a subject that doesn't interest me, I don't go. Whoever set this up did a wonderful job. Love it here. |

Posted - Jun 12 2009 : 6:41:11 PM AMEN JONNI!!!!! I joined a forum for mother's and practically got eaten alive when I announced I was expecting our 4rth and last child. You see, it is a profound sin to use any sort of family planning and I am on a fast tract to hell if I end my fertility. YEAH. I was upset for days so my husband made me leave the forum and was present to watch me end it all!!! SO for all you who just said congratulations when I announced on this forum....my husband thanks you profusely. |

Posted - Jun 12 2009 : 06:02:07 AM I hear ya, Dawn! I joined a "motherhood" forum while pregnant, and those gals eat their own. They get on these jags and won't come down from their high horses, and it's over for me...I end up being accosted, or goaded into some sort of debate or rather, ARGUMENT, when posting an opinion about cloth diapering or whatever. Someone always gets their knickers in a twist! I end up getting myself all bent out of shape (much to my husband's dismay...he can't understand why I give a crap about people I can't SEE and their opinions!)...and that does make SO much sense, right? So I always return to the place I know we support each other.

Posted - Jun 12 2009 : 05:52:47 AM ROFL! Debbie, you were right. That was the perfect antidote. Hubsters quickly wrapped me up (tightly) in a vintage apron to calm me down a little more, then gathered up my sewie supplies and made me sew a patch or two just to re-familiarize myself with mysurroundings. Phew, it was so close... I mean, I could feel them BREATHING on me...stale, "other forum" breath too! Posted - Jun 11 2009 : 2:33:28 PM Dawn, it is scary out there, isn't it? And those other forums actuall have big huge debates going on and they say such mean things. I had to make a hasty retreat a few times, too. Too scary out there. I'm staying right here at home myself.
Glad you made it back in one piece, girl.
