I'm finally as free as can be and got a car yesterday. It's a white Chrysler Fifth Avenue. It's a bit fancy for up here, but it was only $350. One of those deals you just can't pass up. Now, I can go where ever, when ever and take my dogs with me!

Cool for you Lisa I am happy for you.
If you go down on State street in Boise there is a tastie freeze on your right side about 10th or 11th street. I know because I used to work at the bank on State and 8th and we did a lot of afternoon runs there. and the ice cream is great.

Lisa - We used to drive thru McDonald's and get some in a cup. Or stop at Sonic and they brought it out to us. :)

It did, Lisa Marie...it was my daddy's. He died in Arizona, while working, and I got my drivers license (at 21) to help mom go out and collect his belongings, and drive the car home. He had only ever owned Chryslers. I keep thinking now, that he'd be so disillusioned by what's happening with the auto industry!

Well, so much for my after-work cruise! DD decided to go to Boise to see a movie with her friends and spend the night at one of their houses. Oh, well. That's ok. I told her she could borrow it anytime she wanted. I just realized this afternoon, I can take off to go fishing anywhere I want to! I'll pack up my rods, tackle box and ice chest to keep in the trunk just in case I decide to stop off for some spur-of-the-moment fishing. Kokanee season is in August...I soooo love salmon!

Jonni, this one is an '88. I think that's funny you kept the hood ornament! That car must have meant a lot to you.

Janice, is there such a thing as drive-thru ice cream shops? I don't think I've ever seen one.

Alee, I think later on when I can afford a pick-up, I'll give this car to Felicia - for just that reason. I much prefer her to be driving a big, heavy (safe) car than the tin cans they produce now.

So, Diane, which kind of biker are you? The motorized kind or the kind who does all the work yourself? We actually get a lot of both on the highway up here. The crotch-rockets seldom do the speed limit and are really pretty scary. Still amazes me that the pedaling kind can make it the 40 miles to get here as we're 1000 feet higher than Boise.

Jonni- That is how my car is! It's a Lincoln Town car and the guy that hit me in January- His car was totaled and my car just had a big old dent in it!

Lisa- I am so glad you have a car now! You are free! You have made such awesome changes in your life this year! You are awesome!

What year is it, Lisa Marie? Mine was a 1985 and lemme tell you, that sucker was solid Detroit Steel. I can't tell you the times people hit my car and literally bounced off me...but their cars? Crunched like a soda can in a recycling bin!!

Yep, I had one of those plush sheepskin seat covers in the drivers side. When we finally had to retire the car, I took the crystal hood ornament off and it's in my keepsake box

Good for you, Lisa! Take the dogs cruising with you. Maybe a drive thru for some ice cream...;)

Yep, Jonni, it does seem to have this "floating" feeling...even over dirt roads! And the steering is the smoothest I've ever felt. This one also has a leather interior which doesn't impress me much as it gets REALLY hot on the tush! But, it's nothing a small blanket can't fix. It feels really weird when you're used to driving trucks and SUV's, though. I feel like my butt is on the pavement!

Today, I have to get the plates for it and get insurance on it. Then, I think I'll take a cruise tonight after work...

Wooo hoo!!! That was my first car, Lisa Marie. Mine was silver grey, with leather interior. It has this amazing "floating" axle, where the car just seems to hover over the road and drives like a dream. You could turn the steering wheel with your pinky!

I'm sooo happy that you have your freedom and you and the pups can take off whenver you please!
