I will try and express myself here without going overboard and blubbing everywhere!
Over the last year or so that I have been on the forum I am always amazed at the friendships and connections that I see being made.
Sometimes these friendships start with a question about gardening or maybe canning or sewing or whatever, But you can see the development as the topic grows.
Anyhoo...I digress already
I answered a barter/give-away a couple of weeks ago and what has come out of this is something special.
You see, the Lord laid on my heart last year the desire to volunteer at a local women's shelter. I pondered and wondered and finally applied to be a volunteer (in any way they needed me)I told them about myself, how I love to craft etc. Well, one thing led to another and I am now teaching Creative Workshops once a month to the ladies in the shelter. I am humbled and excited by the opportunity to be able to do this. Just to show the ladies that they CAN do something and be proud of their own handiwork.
Since answering the post to ask if I could have the books, some of you Farmgirls e-mailed me and then have blessed the ladies and myself with supplies for our workshops. I'm a Brit and we like to keep a stiff upper lip, but I tell you, I think my eyes are leaking. (yep, y'all made me cry)
Thank-you so very much. (okay, I'm done blubbing )

Nicki, I'm so glad you liked your colors! I always tend towards pinks and purples but am glad I did something different this time!

Diane,
thank-you for your encouraging words. We all need a second chance or a helping hand. Just want to do my bit.

What a great thing to do. I believe over 50% of people in jail made a bad dicision at the time but with proper guidence they can lead a good life. The time they spend with you may do more good than you will ever know. You should be proud of yourself.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

Angie, thank you! That was such surprise to get that package in the mail! And I loved the wrapping. Who would have thought to use old pattern tissue for wrapping, how cute! How did you know that those were my favorite colors? I used to have my living room painted in "celery stick" green and how I love orange. If I ever have a blog either the word orange or tangerine is going to have to be in the name. That is how much I love it!

Wow! You really know what you are doing, girl! You have creativity oozing out of your fingertips! What care and details you put into it all. Thank you so much. I couldn't resist. I had to take a photo of your beautiful gifts, to be forever commemorated in internal memory of my hard drive.

Oh, Angie! You are so awesome and talented! So sweet and giving! God has blessed you in so many ways and you are blessing others and it just turns into a never-ending passing-on of loving and giving. Isn't it wonderful?

What an honor it is to be a part of this in any way! I am looking forward to your reports of God's blessings on your ladies!

I'm humbled too by the outpouring of love, concern and prayer that you all have shown to our family during Cody's accident and recovery. Truly means a lot to all of us.

hey, a good cry every now and then is a good thing. I just got my butt kicked, lovingly, by couple ladies here and I love them for it! It is refreshing to have the companionship of women who can give us a fresh look on life... and bring us out of ourselves.

Thanks for the work you are doing at the shelter. Maybe when things calm down in my family (10 or 15 years from now!) I could do something like that :)

I got your email with your address and I'll get that box together this weekend.
