Posted - May 27 2009 : 4:35:18 PM Not really, but yes I am. Ole Ron did not tell me that we were almost or now OUT of cat food. This morning I scrounged up some leftovers and mustgo to feed them. So this evening while fixing supper, I made a batch of bacon grease gravy. Didn't have enough milk so I made a quart from powdered milk. It smelled and looked so good while I was making it, that I fixed me a piece of toast and had some toast and gravy before I sent it out to the cats. Soooo good. Don't plan to go to town tomorrow so I'm wondering what the cats and I are having for supper tomorrow. |

Posted - May 28 2009 : 08:24:55 AM My cat is so persnickety he won'y eat people food; so he'd be in trouble if I ran out of food. But..... he will only drink his water from a glass. A little spoiled???? only since my sister moved in and encouraged his odd little requests Michele

Posted - May 28 2009 : 07:23:49 AM I love it! Yes, the kitties around here often get interesting items for supper when we have forgotten the cat food. Sounds llike you both came out fine in that adventure...

Posted - May 28 2009 : 03:22:11 AM Oh gosh
It's easy for my one cat, he looooves people food, so when we run out he is easly to please-short term. He even likes small pieces of PB&J
The other one is a bit of a snob and prefers, yes actually prefers her dry crusty cat food over anything I could ever hope to offer...including TUNA? canned chicken?? meat scraps?? CRAZY!
So I can usually go about a day, then I'll be lynched at the door if nothing materializes |

Posted - May 27 2009 : 7:08:36 PM Very creative, Miss Belle. That's using your farmgirl ingenuity. I ran out the other day and had to give them my last can of tuna. I went out later and there was a big pile of tuna throw up. How's that for a thank you? No more tuna for those ungrateful cats. I will be sure to keep cat food on hand from now on.

Posted - May 27 2009 : 4:56:43 PM Belle, You made me laugh so hard! Too funny girl! I make rice, chicken liver and milk gravy for my dogs sometimes for a treat. And add a bit of salt and pepper for me and have a little... my spoiled cats only like their own food and get really huffy if I try to give the something different.
