I just wanted to show you all a picture of my Mother. She is such a sweetie. As some of you know my Father died when I was young and my Mother raised us (3 sibs) until we all got out of school and we were on our own before she remarried. She is 93 and still lives on her own. She is a busy bee--she paint, knits, reads and is a great crossword puzzler. She still drives--but not too much. She lives in Langley, Washington which is on Whidbey Island---2 hrs from me. Langley is a small artsy tourist town. She thrives there and everyone is so nice to her.

She just started using a cane so she won't fall. Here she is by her apartment. MB

What a great picture and how fortunate you are...my Mom died in 1999 at the age of 83 so they would be the same age! I miss my Mom a lot...she was my role model and a very strong and independent woman...she was like MJ except LOTS older...I'll have to post a picture I was sent just recently when she was in the Army and working in the forests out west. Great generation! I can only hope to be the woman my Mother was....I've tried really hard but not sure I'm quite as good as she was. I never heard her say a bad thing about anyone...EVER....that is REALLY hard to do I've discovered but I still try. So glad you shared your beautiful Mother with us....thank you so much!

Your Mom is so sweet
My Mom is 81 ; she is more healthy than I am
She is still getting around too really well
The brother next to me lives with her; but Mom still cooks and does her cleaning.
I am thankful our Moms are still with us .
hugs to you , sheila

Mary Beth, that picture is just fabulous, your sweet Mama and the pretty flowers! I love her red hat! And the cane just adds to the charm! You and your Mama made my heart smile today!

I admire your mom tremendously, Mary Beth. She is so talented(you've shown examples of her work before), she's active, she's fun to be with and still a cutie at the age of 93!

Adorable, Mary Beth...she looks like such a dear person, and I know she must be because you take the time to post about her and show her photo. I love the little homes behind her--so sweet, and it looks so ideal! That makes my day, thank you!

What a great picture. Your Mom and my Aunt Glenda would get along just fine. The only difference is my Aunt doesn't paint, But she does all those other things. She also still drives. I would think that is very scary. Love that HAT!

Oh, MaryBeth....I'll bet your mom's a very "colorful" woman! She would certainly be one to know.
I absolutely love Langley. We used to own a place on "Hat Island" (don't know proper name for it) and we'd take the boat over to Langley (about a 10 minute ride by boat) to have lunch or dinner or otherwise just mess around...and what a gorgeous place to go. Haven't been there in 10 years, since we sold our place, so I imagine
it's grown quite a bit.

Off opic but: I hope to see you one of these days soon. My husband needed another surgery (today) to reduce the pressure in his eye so for now I'm still kind of his eyes...but we're hopeful that within the next month or so he'll have most of his sight back.

Oh Mary Beth- she looks amazing! I would never guess she is 93! Maybe take ten or 15 years off that!
