Posted - May 17 2009 : 2:05:45 PM What to do?
I have two different farmgirls whom I bartered with and faithfully sent my barter to them, but have not received the agreed upon barter back from them.
I have contacted both farmgirls via their e-mail to no avail... and some serious time has elapsed as I know how it can be this time of year, etc.
But, fair is fair right??
What do I do now
Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

Posted - May 18 2009 : 07:22:24 AM I have also done some swaps and barters that have not been reciprocated. I have been disappointed but chose to let it go. I don't know all the reasons why they haven't been reciprocated.
I also have had things get lost in the mail and I didn't know for quite a long time that my partner did not receive them. I guess things just happen and we have to go with the flow.

Posted - May 17 2009 : 7:52:40 PM WOW....I just found out after searching through old e-mails and posts that I shipped 3-bars of soap for $4.95 and the Farmgirl I mailed it to never recieved it.
I have since contacted this very understanding Farmgirl this evening and will try shipping her soap again on Monday May 18th. This has never happened in 5 years of shipping orders. I am sooooooooooo embarrassed!

Posted - May 17 2009 : 6:54:34 PM One of the girls responded just now and hopefully this will be a successful barter ....I think sometimes we do just need a memory jog...
"Hi Melody! Yes! Thanks for the memory jog, I'll mail them out to you by Wednesday! Thanks again!"

Posted - May 17 2009 : 5:57:04 PM I'm going to guess that 1/3 of the barters I've done on this site, I have not received what I was supposed to. . .but hope springs eternal :) so I still like to barter. |

Posted - May 17 2009 : 5:51:12 PM Sometimes life throws us oppertunities to show "US" who we are. It isn't about other people and what they do or don't do, but maybe more about who we are, and who we choose to be when others do things to us disappoint us. And others will disappoint us. But when I think of all the great and positive things that come out of this connection I would rather spend time focusing on them.... and less time on the ones that you can't change.
I know that anytime there is $$$ involved emotions go deep, I get that. But I also believe that, what goes around comes around. And who we choose to be in the midst of it.....comes back to us.
I never like to see anyone hurt or taken for granted... but I have also learned that I can choose to "make lemonade".

Posted - May 17 2009 : 4:56:29 PM Every barter I have done so far has gone super well...just these two. I have e-mailed them again this evening and hopefully they will respond. Sometimes, we forget about it. I realize that, but if it is intentional then it does leave a bitter taste in your mouth. But, I am not going to let this get in the way of bartering in the future. I just love to BARTER!!
Thanks gals....

Posted - May 17 2009 : 4:42:02 PM I'm sorry to hear that you girls have experienced this. It's a shame that people would be deceitful and selfish.
Is there a list of unfaithful farmgirls? Just curious. I think if someone is not going to be faithful then it should be made known.

Posted - May 17 2009 : 4:16:43 PM I've been in your shoes. It totally bites! I finally got my last bartered item, but it left a sour taste in my mouth. And to make matters worse, this round of secret sisters has left me 1/2 high & dry. Some people are just no fun! I hope it gets resolved for you soon!

Posted - May 17 2009 : 3:39:07 PM I know there was something on here about that not too long ago, but I can't remember where it was. Alee would probably know. :) Sorry to hear that barters aren't working out for you. It puts a bitter taste for them when they are not followed through. Not all are like that. I hope that it wont dampen your bartering spirits. hugs

Posted - May 17 2009 : 3:33:39 PM I've had the samething happen to me twice and now I don't barter anymore, I don't like being taken of advantage of. I wonder how someone that is willing to stiff someone on a barter can stand to show their face again on the message boards but they do. Makes you wonder. Kathy |

Posted - May 17 2009 : 2:25:02 PM I'm sorry to hear this Melanie! I'm guessing you haven't received an email back from them - have you tried to contact whoever it was that started the swap? Maybe they can help or know what's going on! I know with my darn 'ol computer with a brain of its own...it likes to swallow up just "some" of my emails and I never get them! Not saying that's the case here but a possibility! Good luck to you and I hope you receive your swaps soon!!!
