Posted - May 17 2009 : 2:52:03 PM Rene' those pictures are so amazing. What a beautiful countryside that you found. You are a woman after my own heart that's for sure. There nothing in this world that makes me feel so at peace and totally relaxed as a day like that. If I am in nature I am happy. When you take more pictures please share,I can't tell you how much I enjoyed sharing your day.

Posted - May 17 2009 : 10:07:17 AM WOW everyone thank you all so much! I dont have a fancy camera, just a little $200 FugiFilm 12 pixel and no editing program. I have to do it the hard way and Climb into every briar patch for the right light.. ( you should see my legs and arms all scratched up).. I am a backwards photorapher, as I take picture to motivate me to write.. (every picture has a story)..
The majority of these pictures were taken north of Walla Walla Wa..I spent the early years of my life there, and my grandparents and family are all still there. I have "friends" that are more like parents... John is a native american that does AMAZING bead word and Sara is a brilliant photographer and painter... SO I went there friday night and spent all day Sunday breathing in the amazing scenes.... I always walk away from these adventures with a whole new perspective to love, life and living.. how could you not? I took OVER 200 photos.. so be watching for them on the blog as well....

Posted - May 17 2009 : 08:33:39 AM What?! That's the END?! It can't be!!! Rene, this was so wonderful that I can't believe it's over....please please please tell us more...show us more!! These photographs are extraordinary. The bit of sunshine hidden in the pick-up truck was electrifying! Truly, I could sense your happiness almost instantly...What's up with the shaggy highland cow! What a character he/she was. Made me laugh. Is that a wall-a-bee? What's the deal? That one had my happy place just hoppin'. The 77 year old farmgirl with the owl..do tell us her story!! The goats on the shack was just too much fun! Totally brought out the explorer in me. That grain building was surreal. I have no idea what was so startling to me about it. I suppose it was the lines of the building itself. The stories cascading off the roof like the rain. The stories stored within like each kernel of grain. The color of the building which in stark contrast to its surroundings makes it appear immortal and unattached. It was breath-taking!
I, too, unplugged a little this weekend spending some time at Priest Lake. I didn't take a single picture that I could take with me and share with you...Those panoramic views remain burned in memory. I realized it wasn't a get-away for me to take a little with me back home but to leave a little of me there instead....
Rene, thank you for sharing...I don't know what it is about the green exactly that has me in an ebullient mood but it does. Is it new life? It is the promise of growth? Is it beauty? Is it welcoming? Perhaps it is all of the above. Perhaps none. Regardless, your cheer has brought me cheer. What a gift!! ~julia
